After a two week delay, I am finally on the road.

One purpose of this adventure is to be WOW'd by people, places, and life. Yesterday morning when I started out, first thing when I uprighted my bike I was WOW'd. WOW it's heavy all loaded down!

The added weight helps in handling the bike around 18 wheelers, but is a challenge at slow speeds. :clap An area for learning and growth. The best part of the added weight is I'm no longer on my tip toes, but now the balls of my feet. I have better footing!

4/18 starting mileage 15,710, ending 16,215, total 505 miles. DeLand FL to Myrtle Beach SC for some lessons on picture and computers.
Off to the mountains in GA.

Oh, don't forget there are lots of UPS stores along the way where you ship back what you over packed.

This is going to be a good one. One of my favorite destinations and I always like to read someone else's impressions of the experience. Ride safe and ENJOY!

as defined by another site (where I've hung for the past few years):

"a term of endearment for one who rides at a spirightly/spirited pace, but never out of control or recklessly. The focus is on technical skill and "riding well" (and almost always ATGATT), but not always with due regard to posted speed limits or paint on the road. Both wheels usually stay in contact with the road, though they might slip a bit sideways . . . . [IMG]

It is differentiated from squidly riding or posing or merely "showing off" in that the rider is usually only out to enjoy/improve his riding/cornering skills and for the purpose of having better lies for the evenings' bench racing around the campfire, a posted Ride Tale . . . or just to trying to shake the other Hoon right on his 6:00.
