Here are two routes from Newington, VA - I95 south of the Beltway:

    1. Hot Springs via the BR Parkway will take you down to RT 3 and then via 20 over to I64 and the start of the BRP, then the BRP past Blowing Rock and then 221 etc. over to Hot Springs.
    2. Hot Springs via 29 and US 58 is more for if the weather is bad and the BRP is foggy and messy. Same way down, but 29 from Charlottesville to Lynchburg 460 (great new 29 bypass 65mph around Lburg that your GPS won't know about) then on to the BRP as far as Mabry Mill/US 58 and then over to the Mt Rogers and down.
The other routes are just to document the east and west side of the Cherohala Skyway from Hot Springs - just avoid Maggie Valley, it sucks.
