Some of us tragics are lucky enough still to be driving V8 Hillmans, Bruce - even luckier by buying well before Carroll Shelby carked it and everything connected with him went ballistic.

    Beautiful, absolutely beautiful Ron.
    The first James Bond car!

Dad was a Rootes Group tragic, from early Minx, Super Snipe through to the Hunter wagon. (And an Imp for a short time). Mixed amongst them were a 6/99 and 24/80 Wolseley.

I had a 64 Super Minx, white roof over dark grey body, very tidy car. Handled surprisingly well, it was very stiff. Performance was lacking, but it was a fun little car.

    Nah.
    Ralphie rollbacks.
The act of rolling backwards in reverse, then changing into first and accelerating.

Mr Bond had to make do with a rented Alpine (Dr No came out in 1962, before Tigers) but Maxwell Smart had a Tiger as one of his cars.

I had a couple of 69 Hunter GTs too. Andrew Cowan successfully rallied Tigers for a while in the 1960s.

My brother had an early Alpine and also has a very nice Tiger. His was used in the parade lap of drivers for one of the Melbourne Formula 1 races.

    Laverda Alpina?
    Triumph Tiger?
Shouldn't this car-wibble be in the Off-topic thread?

I thought Sunbeam peaked with the S9; didn't realise they copied Hendersen, FN, Indian, MV Agusta and Nimbus with four-cylinders, and Moto Guzzi with a V8.

Its not like we have anywhere to go right now so why not look forward to something - even if it is overpriced and delayed a little. :-)
