One of very few Bitzas I'd give shed-space to - a real hybrid but looks like it was done properly.

Yes, lots of proper work inside motor, flat slide carbs, endless list. I would consider it but my neck is giving me hell even on my Tuono.

In Canberra at the Mugga Lane tip, there is a recycling centre. Lots of stuff, some good, some shit, but the funniest part is the line trimmers- an ENTIRE large rack filled with nothing but dead Ryobi's - both sides. There are no other brands, just ENDLESS dead Ryobi's.

    Says a lot eh.

In a moment of stupidity I too bought a Ryobi, and yes it's at the tip.

Went and bought a Honda jobbie, utterly reliable after 4 or 5 years. Coincidentally, the little engine in it has been produced in greater numbers than any other engine on the planet, and by some considerable margin apparently, according to the dealer.

My dog Desmo used to bite front bike tyres - can't say how often I rode over his head and spun him through 360.

The missus spotted the original brochure for my first bike when organising our new magazine library.

Seems I got an adventure bike back on the day, note the desert landscapes the main pics are taken in. The hand written script on the front page says "Cash price on the road, $1473.50". It came from Tasman Motorcycles in Braddon ACT in Jan 1973.

It was a bit of an adventure over about 9 years as it evolved with a monocoque frame, new suspension, brakes, big bore, big carbs and a gutful of Yoshi bits, but I didn't get it out in the desert at any stage:freaky
