The silicon mouthpiece on my Camelbak split and it was leaking all the time, new ones were close to $20...

I ordered one of these $2.83 chinese ones, it's pretty good for the money... The silicon isn't glued onto the valve so you can use it with the Camel valve, or use the whole thing.. (I superglued the silicon to the valve so there's no chance of losing it)

I found the cheapie bite valves like the above don't last quite as long as the 'real' thing, but for the money, damn good value, get 6 at a time.

I actually had to writeoff my Camelbak recently. A 3l job acquired new in 1999. The pack was replaced a couple of times, worn through, the bite valve and bladder countless times, but the bladder and hose were still original. The bladder finally sprung a leak, but the hose is still fine.

I've still got my camelbak HAWG that I bought in 1994 or so. It has a couple of features the new ones don't, which I like. I have replaced the bladder but that's all. It is still eminently serviceable. One of the best value-for-money purchases I ever made, and a damn fine idea to boot.

I've still got my original Camelbak too.

I've replaced the bladder, hose and bite valve 4 times and the pack 3 times.

If you just look after them, they'll last you a lifetime

I think you're confusing it with the DAGFULLSTRENGTH.
