Same year as mine but I have 47,000 miles, only 10k are mine
15' GS - 42,000 k's. Was supposed to put another 20,000 on it his year on a lap of Oz but, you know, the 'Rona f@#ked that
Well I thought to was a 2017.5 due to the instrument panel not having the grey around the outside of the dials but honestly could be mistaken. Regardless 2017 or 2017.5 I'm keeping it, a great bike indeed. I was between the triple black and a blue rally which I thought was a 2017.5 with the same gauge set up, so that is how I arrived at the conclusion.
It'a a 2017 exactly like mine. The 2016 had the grey around the speedo ring. BMW kind of pulled a fast one with the whole 2017.5 thing as they rolled those out kind of mid-year and never really formally announced it. It has different plastics and the suspension was updated to with auto pre-load and a few other things. It was confusing to me and I was bit annoyed but nonetheless I love the bike and the triple black looks killer. I thought for a minute of upgrading to the new 1250 but with the front brake issue and the extra unknowns I'm going to stick with this for awhile. It's given me know problems in 3 years and 24k miles and I ride it pretty hard on and off road. The only thing I wish I had was TFT screen. The speedo on the old ones are worthless and I find myself always using the GPS for a speed reading. Other than that no complaints.
Ahh I see, thank you for the clarification. I agree BMW made the 2017.5 model year thing a bit confusing. I'm with you; zero issues and have it farkeled to my tastes. I'm 100% road, but ride it pretty hard. I have mixed feelings on the TFT, love the way it looks but I also continue to hear of functionality issues which would be frustrating.
I plan to keep this bike for another 2-3 years. I love the triple black color scheme. I find myself stopping while entering our home from the garage and just staring at it. Take care, Doug
2011 triple black and just done 50k km this past weekend
My ‘01 had 52,000 miles on it when I bought it last month, and I’ve added maybe another thousand on it since then.
2019, now at 27,500 miles, need to get out and ride more!
And a couple of days later, Natchez, MS
My mileage as of a few hours ago. The bike's been ridden hard and put up wet over the years, and not by me since I bought it last month, but it’s still pretty solid.
Just cracked 70K miles on mine yesterday, took it 311 miles round trip to go hike Mount Madison in NH, beautiful day!!!
Came home to a new Aerostich suit delivered at my door.
Didn't need it but smoking ebay deal I couldn't refuse. It was the right thing to do.
