I used to live in Markleeville. Damn, I miss that area.
Wow, I didn't know you could ride motorcycles through there. We have had a place in Tahoe Donner since the 80's too. There used to be an enduro that started around Georgetown and climbed up the Sierras to somewhere near Donner Pass. I think it was called the Fool's Gold Enduro. It was fun! Then Virginia City, NV had their Grand Prix too. Ten 15 mile laps with the start-finish on Main Street! That was in the 70's. Great part of the world!
Killer loop fellas! Well done.
Downloaded your map, interesting!!
I have a cabin below Stumpy Meadows, way above Georgetown and live in Foresthill. Gotta check out your routes!!
i had some business out in tahoe/reno a few years back and did a couple of trail rides out there, incredibly spectacular scenery and VERY challenging/technical riding. was on my butt a lot. we hit parts of the rubicon, ellis, and did the pass (trails not the road) from incline village to truckee, wow was that hard with all the switchbacks and of course big rocks everywhere. actually i did take the road back from truckee as i would've needed a week's rest to do that pass again...
I'm unaware of a trail from IV to Tuckee, Where did it start/end?
looking at the map, we may have started a little closer to where 267 hits the road around the lake. i already forget the towns. no idea where we came out at truckee but i think it was near 80/89 or thereabouts.
Thanks for the awesome trip info. Would you say most of the route is doable on big ADVs?
We are pretty comfortable of single track...
No disrespect, but. Just forget about the Rubicon trail section of the trip on a big adventure bike, the rest of these trails can work if you’re a seasoned rider.
Yeah, I saw a few videos, it would be quite "brave" to tackle Rubicon on any bike in general, let alone a 500lb one
