Finally after 2 months, I found a new pair of kicks!! :happay

    Forma Terra EVO

I know that doesn't seem like it is a huge deal but I wear size 15-16, finding shoes has always been an issue. Between Amazon and Cycle Gear I went through 7 pairs, even 2 in the same size from Forma.

    I'm legitimately excited.:rilla

Lol, the included but uninstalled metal toe caps are not even close to fitting, they probably only have 1 size cap.

One solution, that helps avoiding the toilet-paper-problem, is the az-blaster, that backpackers use.

    So... Fun spring day today
Not as warm as yesterday that I spent working but I was able to get a few more things accomplished.

Finally got the trailer hooked up and stacked with some weight. Thought I would take a nice leisurely cruise on 129.

Met another local with a KLR to bullshit with while we were hanging out.

Unfortunately the reason we were hanging out was somebody forgot where he was.

A note to anyone reading this, IF YOU COME TO TAIL OF THE DRAGON; KNOW YOUR FUCKING LIMITS!!

    1. 1 HOUR FROM MEDICAL ATTENTION
    2. 2 HOURS FROM A HOSPITAL
    3. 3 HOURS FROM A TRAUMA CENTER

    ASSUMING THEY FIND YOU.

    123. REMEMBER THAT SHIT.

This guy gets a $5,000 ambulance ride to go with his busted leg and shoulder. And he wrote off the bike.

At least he gets to go home breathing, this time. And on a selfish note I didn't have to watch him die.

I was able to manage enough cell service to make a 911 call, 45 minutes later the police show up, 45 minutes after that an ambulance. A couple of guys from Virginia supposedly have the off on camera, maybe keep an eye out for it.

Back to my shit, bike is as slow as expected with a trailer, and between the PO installed uni filter and me ripping the snorkel out, I'm desperately in need of a KLX needle and a jet.

Interesting sensation driving with a trailer, my first time.

Riser and OEM tall windscreen are still not enough for my giant ass, I'll grab a flap to mount on top this week.

I'm digging the trailer, plenty of room for my purposes, which will mostly be food and water, but I may splurge and bring a cast iron skillet.

The fact that it is color coded helps too. Even down to the black rim, polished spokes and a Shinko tire.

Great read. Looking forward to hearing more about your adventures and how you continue to setup your bike. I too chose a tractor style bike, the same bike I used for dual sport rides and enduros in the pine barrens of NJ back in the 90's, a DR650s. It hasn't changed much other than having an electric starter now. Got my bike for a song, so I decided to put some of the savings into mods. Good luck riding and stay safe out there. Keith

I quit riding the dragon because of other riders being dangerous and nearly hitting me.

Did you come on the weekend between April and November?

    Tourists ruin everything.

My general rule of thumb is if my friends are out there shooting photos, that means there's enough people where they can make a living selling those pictures, and it's not very fun to drive.

Not that it matters, I won't be around much longer.

If you're using a trowel - dig a small hole, but not below the "organic layer", do god's will, wipe, burn the TP in the hole, cover hole.

Something I just found out: baby wipes, which are great for many things, do not decompose in typical shit stack camp toilet holes. Don't put them down the hole, because someone will have to fish it out.

    Happy trails.

I have been at all different times of the year, day, and day of the week. The last time happened to be a Wednesday afternoon around 1pm about mid April. The best times I have found is early mornings Feb-March Mon-Wed.

I prefer winter nights for turbocharged cars on autocross tires but I get where you're coming from. People ruin everything.

Are you planning to ride on road only? If not I would get rid of those metal crates, they might ruin your legs in an off or deep stuff:)
