    Thanks!

My skills are pretty limited...for example: I can’t even weld or machine something on a lathe. But I know people who can.

Bikes are my therapy (riding, wrenching, watching, reading about them, etc) and I like being in the garage. That’s a good thing because this rebuilt costs a lot of time and effort.

Wow, this post goes from the most ugly, frightening pictures to one of the prettiest rebuilds I've seen. That's beautiful!

Awesome. Nothing creates a bond with an inanimate machine like this kind of resurrection. Well done.

Your rebuild shows great spirit and the travel pics suggest a pretty experienced rider...
Care to share details of how the initial "crash & burn" developed ?
My first thought was "Dutch guy gets acquainted with Luxemburg roads", now I know there must be more to it.

I have some riding experience, good and bad

In Luxembourg the throttle somehow got stuck. The bike kept going. Everything in a few seconds. Very happy I could avoid crashing into my buddy and thankfull for everything else!

Great pics! I'm really liking the black wheels. Is that powder coat or paint?

The rims are not coated, I think they are anodized.

A few years ago I was running a Takasago Excel Rim for a KTM in my G/S. That wheel weighted 3.9 kg. Later I found out that the same rim and spokes with a DRZ hub was only 3.6 kg. I then bought the DRZ version.

The bike is in my office at home. I’m enjoying it but really look forward travelling with the G/S again:

@RJB this is some incredible story. I've been attached to a machine before but your effort is OAB to the next level. That bike does look the business. Super nice!

Last June I was in Luxembourg with my HP2 Enduro and came across the road I crashed the G/S.

    2020-06-27 09.57.28.jpg

We stopped and I found a part of the G/S at the side of the road.

I keep coming back to your beautiful bike, RJB.

Could you tell me what brake disc you are using with the DRZ hub, please?
