I don't understand the correlation between the two? How does a free dinner provided by a dealer result in accidents?

Next it will be the free dinner provided by the ride host.

Well, there goes that ride, thanks Terry, it was fun while it lasted.

Well, I can see cause for a new Rally, something like the "New Parts" or "Spare Parts" or maybe "Replacements" rally. I am sure it would gather a lot of gray hair; that and several shinny heads!

It’s still gonna be great ... ride your own ride, keep your head out of the cockpit, and make great memories.

Well if noobs cant ride gravel with street tires with other bikers and not cause accidents stay home. dealers tend to bring beginners out for adventure. Terry this ride is good enough with out any sponsors. If u can't change a light bulb on your bike stay home
Guess who changed that light bulb it was me. And as for as kicking dogs watch some u tube vids

Maybe you are the one who should skip this event if you have issues with it Tony. I'm sure we could all do without you kicking dogs at the cookout this year. It is a great event just the way it is and put on by extremely generous people. Thanks Terry and Johnny!

I’m reversing my field, and will again volunteer to lead newbs. It’s easy to forget that we were all beginners once, and my yoga experience has led me to believe that we all still are.

You have a lifetime of awesome experience to pass on John so glad to hear it! This was my first organized gravel ride 2 years ago and I led a group last year. I hope to make part of the event this year!

The greatest way to build any sport or hobby is to welcome new enthusiasts and help them learn in hopes they fall in love with it just like we have. I am far from seasoned on the ADV bike but have many miles in on offroad bikes and rapidly building on the ADV side. If not for so many who lend advice on everything from gear to routes to the best places to get a sticker (Slurp-N-Burp), I would not have as much interest in this great passion we all love.

I am always more than willing to help others whether they are on their first or one thousandth ride and would once again offer any and all assistance I can to this event Terry and Johnny. I am only a short ride away and get through this area often. I also have a place we can offer some "hero" or just light offroad sections if we are so inclined to do so.

All that said I booked my site right when I seen the event dates come through on Facebonkers. I have also just completed the paper chain to hang in my room and tear off one ring each day we get closer to the events!! :clap:rofl

If you can't change that light bulb, then by all means, go to these rides.

Make new friends that know how to change that bulb. Ask advice on any maintenance and what tires they favor.

That's one reason they are not just one big group leaving and traveling together. You find someone with your basic skill level or someone who is willing to share their knowledge and experience.

    Lighten up Francis :D:ricky

Having nothing better to do this evening, I booked my campsite (#05). So I guess I am now committed (many of my friends would add, "about time"). Far as I could get from the railroad tracks. Never stayed at Blanding, but have camped many, many times at Grant River (Potosi), which is tucked in between the same river and the same railroad. Seven bucks a night, not bad...

Can we get back to discussing the ride?

for folks new to the area, there’s a great eatery in Hanover that’s great at breakfasts, and a steak joint in Galena that’s the equal of most any I’ve eaten at.

Well at least you have friends. If I posted what site I have reserved, everyone would get as far away as possible. :lol3
