The rear subframe on the new '09 Bergs is plastic, same material as the fuel tank and is a great potential extra fuel cell.

    see here http://www.husaberg.org/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=9245&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

It has been tested now with no leaks from the fasteners etc, and has a 4 litre capacity, ~50% increase on standard, not bad.

Fuel is mainly to the left side, but given that it is carried low, should not be a problem with bike balance.

Wall thickness is approximately 3mm. This should be more than enough material for the vent fitting (plus sealing goo). Fitting the balance line, would be best to do similar to the fuel pump with a mounting plate/gasket goo and bolts.

With the standard 8.5L it will give 12.5L all up, that will be good enough for Condo and Yilgarn etc. all with the standard slim line body work :wings

Great stuff to be able to do that and use the stock body work.

I reckon some clever Swede had this at the back of their mind with the design...................why else ?? and given its the same material as the tank !! :clap :clap [IMG]

Plus it means that only about another 10 L needs to be found with the larger Safari tank for the long range rallyes :rayof

Read the write up on them - some innovative features - sub frame, straight inlet, mass centralsation etc. What a beautiful project - best of luck.

    you bastard
those new bergs are a very nice thing. Aqualine making a tank for them is a surprise.

the EFi will keep the fuel economy good, what are the oil capacity on them?
    Titanium valves?

is it 6 spd wide ratio?

    mmmm :deal

    ok ok I repent :shog

Now that the new bike endorphin euphoria has subsided I will tread the righteous path and not be led into temptation of frivalous andodised blue bling :cry

Afterall it is supposed to be a serious rallye bike !

(besides which I just realised how expensive it all is :eek1 )

So will save the sheckels for the Safari costs instead :nod

With that aim in mind have amended the proposed bits list below on post #7
