G.T was over and came for a ride on the Cycle Products West KTM 570EXC weapon that Todd Smith used up at the Gsacoyne Dash and for the Safari.

Gazza also came along on a 650 to give me some more sand riding coaching :thumbup

great area to get desert dune rallye practice

quite a large area with some real tall and steep dunes, soft stuff to harder, you can go for many km's on it

seem a lot like the white dunes of the Fiambala region in Argentina
    [IMG]

best opportunity for anyone in WA to practice without going to Dubai

not sure where you would go to get practice on this stuff though

Chile rock slat flat - Salar

I have been watching all of the build threads with great interest. There will be many late nights hitting the refresh button trying to keep up with your progress. Can't wait.

I recently ordered two t-shirts from Sebastian and I picked them up from the Post office this morning.

He is a great guy to deal with and the t-shirts are excellent in quality. I am one very happy customer.

Garry...a little over two weeks to go and counting. Best of luck mate; you have a lot of friends on both sides of the pond pulling for you. Concentrate on your daily goal and the pieces will fall into place!

    Thanks Jim appreciate it

the butterflys are in full flight at the moment but once the bum hits the seat on the first stage it will be 1 km at a time and 1 day at a time and see where that takes me.

Best Wishes for the Dakar Garry!

I'm sure you've got the determination to get through - let's just hope lady luck is kind and you have a relatively trouble free run (if that's even possible for an event as extreme as the Dakar Rallye)

I along with many others will be watching on with much envy!

    Travel safe....

    cheers,

    Coak

yeah all the best Garry, 1 stage at a time eh?

And try to have a great Xmas and not spend every moment thinking about it (altho' that's probably an impossibility at this point)!

    Cheers, Guy.

And from the people who helped see your 'Berg away safe...

Hi Gazza, I'm really interested to keep track of your progress and watch the Husaberg shine!

I got to ride an FE390 down at West-Coast Trailbike Safaris, back in November. It's only the 2nd dirt-bike I have ridden after their TTR250's.
I had previously been reading and researching Husa's inspired mostly by this thread and your proclamations of excellence...
I mentioned I'd been looking at them and since there were not enough TTR's for all the hire guests, they let me on the 390. My 4th ever day of riding off-road!
God they are a fantastic bike, I fell instantly in love. It really made me a smoother and better rider, though alot of the time I felt I wasn't doing the bike justice (trying not to crash the hired expensive machine!).

So, I know exactly what you mean about the handling keeping you fresh through having to work less hard.
In my (limited) experience it's a great choice of steed.
I'm sure the 570 will do you proud, stay safe out there and come through for a finish!

Mate with the effort you have put in to the prep, hopefully you'll have a good dose of luck as well and get that baby home.
