this won't reset anything on these bikes. You can only reset the fueling adaption values in the ECU and the TPS with a BMW diagnosis system, Rheingold software or the GS911. After that it's indeed important to let the engine idle until the fan comes on twice to establish the fueling baseline.

Thank You very much. I found the downloadable software, now I have to find a cable where to buy :) During the weekend I plan to check the fuel pump and the fuel filter.

Hey Carsten With the gs911 (and after resetting) I've found going through the heating/fan cycles gives the bike barely any improvement in running behaviour. I tried this 4 or 5 times in the first year thinking I was doing something wrong. So eventually I chose not the do the fan thing and presto perfect running TR again. That was 2 years ago. Admittedly I have to reset every 4/6k km or about < 3 times a year and it also turns it into a 10 minute job. Try it sometime.

Checked the fuel pump, the filter and whole fueling system. All seems fine. Ordered the cables and waiting for arrival. I hope will learn something from reading the error codes.

Around 11.000 miles. BTW... How will I know if my bike has the ECU update or not?

Thanks. The front brake works extremely well now, and no noticeable rubbing (as it should be, but not what I'm used to...).

The brake repair kit can be found via the link, below. Its part number is: BRA51956. It's compatible with the 650 GS of the same year as the TR650.

No stupid question, but it might can be useful for someone.
I did usual mainteinace this weekend and in addition the front fender modification.
I took some Strada components and did some changes due to 21" tyre instead of 17" from the Strada. The fender is a bit longer as standard as you can see. That part came from China and it is an universal part.
FYI: Bike still runs very stable.

you could try to check with Husqvarna or Magneti Marelli, pretty sure they keep a registry. NHTSA in the US has an online tool to check if a vehicle has open recalls, maybe Hungary has something similar.

If the ECU has been reflashed it should show the last six digits of the vin number printed on the ECU,
    ECU.JPG
or it may be on the underside.
    as per dealer instructions.

fan twice are the most recent BMW dealer instructions for the G650GS after the ECU update so yeah, not strictly for the TR650 but close enough.

A follow-up on the cheap Chinese turn signals.
I bought these for just under $18 shipped:

The stalks are hard plastic not kind of rubbery like the stock ones.
The bulbs are different, more an orange color and the tabs are symmetrical where the stock are not.
I didn't leave it this way, but the stock bucket/refector did fit in the new housing.

Stock on the left, new on the right.

So, I recently noticed when I turn the ignition key on my bike on and the dash comes to life I see "map 2" on the LCD. Is there a way to change maps? I'm also thinking of putting it up for sale because of unplanned vet bills and insurance premium increases. I'm trying to come up with an asking price. I'm seeing TR650s asking $3500 to $5000. I have 2800 miles on it now since I bought it this Spring. Any suggestions?

Anyone have both models at once? I'm debating adding a Strada.

I converted a Strada into a Terra, does that count?
