I work for a Husky dealer. Met with Senior KTM brass in January. The 701 is going nowhere. Absolutely nowhere.

For those running Flexx bars with a submount stabilizer, which model Flexx bars did you get? I'm thinking of going with the 12* Moto bend.

Did you get the Fasst Handguards with them, or are you using another brand of handguards?

    Thanks...

I don't understand. Going nowhere = it's not leaving us, expect more in future? Or it's going nowhere = it's a dead end, expect it to cease?

Just got off the phone from local Husky dealer:
2019 701 is sold out. The 2020 701 will be available from September 2019 and will have the same features as the new KTM 690!

If this turns out to be the case I will have one!

Which means my 2016 will be for sale at a good price if anyone wants to wait that long for a good deal........

We got our first (and only so far) 2019 in January. I seriously doubt there will be a 2020 701 on the showroom floor in September 2019. Please do not plan your purchase around this if you live where it doesn't snow. You'll be waiting for months.

Thanks for recommending our skid plate. We know it's not the cheapest solution but since we hate repairing motors and long/expensive efforts to get broken bikes out of the woods we like to think of it as cheap insurance ;)

Thanks again for the recommendation and support of our company and products!

I just received a 2019. How can you tell what fork it is?
    And what's the difference?

Online opinions seem to be mixed, I've never ridden on xplor or 4cs before - I'm curious to know why they changed & i just asked about it on the suspension thread as it was a surprise to me!

    `19 Manual says -

    Fork article number 14.15.8S.10
    Fork WP SuspensionXplor 5448

You'll find the number printed on the inside of the right fork

    For completeness, `18 manual says

    Fork part number 24.15.7P.10
Fork WP Performance Systems Up Side Down 4860 MXMA 4CS

    Thats
That’s a stretch! But, makes sense in the context of the post. It’s more like a heads down display, HDD.

Some folks hate the 4CS, some love 'em....when I had my FE501 resprung I had him tune the forks, and I was a huge fan.
Even before they were tweaked I liked them, but many see them as hard to get dialed in, too harsh, etc.

My 701 has been resprung (before I bought it), from the limited time I've had to ride it, the forks feel great.

Interesting about the side stand. Any idea how much shorter? Lots of folks here have shortened their side stands through various means.

I think a lot of the controversy about the forks comes from the racing community. They are looking for the best possible performance and fit for their riding style. It seems the 4CS and Xplor forks need a lot of rework for some people.

I only do trail riding so my needs are much more basic than the racing crowd. I have 4CS forks on my 2015 FE350s and also on my 2018 701 enduro. With the right springs for my weight, and some adjustments on compression and rebound, they have been fantastic for me. YMMV.
