Here's an article about them making it official:

    https://www.rideapart.com/articles/386013/husqvarna-norden-901-confirmed-production/

For my money the Norden looks like the most appealing combo of capability and good looks out there in a large ADV.
At some point I'd like to downsize slightly my R1200GS but still have good 2-up capability, and this might be it!
The Triumph 900 announcement yesterday was a fine update, but still essentially a bike from 2010, not a generational step like the 790/901 platform.

Man. Looks like this could be the other side of the sweet spot - better touring than 790 but still capable off road. I LOVE my 790 but it's not really a fantastic touring bike, still battling wind buffeting.

In for pricing. Kinda nervous, wouldn't be surprised if it's $15k+.

The Norden looks cool but I could lose all that crash bar stuff. Glad they are going to make it, but for me my 790r already ticks all the boxes.

Probably going to forego my 790 Rally order for this 901.

To me the 901 appears to be a really nice looking weapon for a street biased adv bike. No dealers here so it would take an 8 hr road trip to see one in person. I think it's also going to see a high demand worldwide.

Not sure if you're saying this or not, hard to tell with the way the posts are quoted, but the Rade Windscreen is polycarbonate.

Around the 1:57 mark he states it's made of Lexan, which is a brand name of polycarbonate.

Man that is one killer bike. For the first time in 5 years my 1190R might be getting nervous. I'm hoping the bigger 890 engine makes a good 115 or so HP when tuned for the Norden. The 95 HP on the 790 just seems a bit soft for my spoiled right wrist.

    Have you ridden 790 yet?
95 Hp can still easily take you to a place of joy or pain... Same as 115hp... It will come down to how the Norden’s Hp is delivered and where in the rev range.

Wonder what the weight penalty will be for that 100cc increase over the 790.

Joking aside, can’t see the Norden undercutting the 790 price. I’ve been wrong many times in my life...

Photos and info from EICMA show a KTM 790 Adventure wearing different cloths. I do like it.

Wanna see how it rides? Ride a 790 while imagining a slight heavier weight, slightly more expensive cost, and 50cc more displacement per cylinder. Don't really understand those that think it is a different motorcycle.

Should weigh less-- it's a bored out 790, so more space, less metal :lol3

I mean technically it should be lighter since there's more empty space in each cylinder:lol3

Now we want the specs! one hour away to a dealer or two in my case. I wonder though if they will have any demo for test i early stage. My 790R fits my purpose with the bike, so i'm not sure why i would swap but it's easy to fall in love when testing :lol3. Sure it will be the most offroad capable bike in it's segment though. Scared about what the price will land on though. Nice looking except from the crashbars!:photog

I am hoping the cams and extra cc's go towards torque. The styling would imply it's less sporty than the 790 - a downgrade to some, but I would like it to lug nicely down the freeway loaded up with a passenger. (The shift cam of the R1250 pulls me in that direction for my next adv tourer. Pretty big and $$$ though...)

'It will be lightest in its segment'.

Depends on which Segment they consider the 901. I guess it won't be in the 790 segment, as it will problaby be a bit heavier with all the extra farkles.

I guess they see it in the segment of the ligher adventure bikes, BMW F800, Tiger800 etc etc. So 790 Adv weight + few kilo's..

Well, the F800 is now the F850, the Tiger 800 is now the Tiger 900, the Africa Twin 1000 is now the AT 1100.
The 790 starts to feel like its own segment, except maybe the Tenere 700.
