If you want to make this loop a bit longer, head up Gold Creek and around Kachess Lake . Lots of great views and easy to drop into Easton for the I90 > Greenwater route.

This is actually the last 2 rides I did up there but you'll see the tracks on the N side of I90

image.jpeg The boy and I had a great ride today. Greenwater to I-90 then paralleling the freeway as much as possible back to Hyw 18. Smooth sailing with only a few mildly technical spots.

Nice, this must be where the map says BRIDGE OUT! :) Along with an XR650L, my all time favorite machine

My gpx only goes to Tacoma pass where I turned around as it was late and I was running solo

I crossed there few time this year - be careful about your line. Seems like some of the jeeps made a HUGE sink holes in the middle of the river - crossed fine 3x and on the 4th almost sunk the bike...

I think you have to ride the Powerline Road to do that. Though it's not really a road. Good luck!

Thanks Drone, I'm looking for a connection from Kachess lake to Cleelum lake. Not Keechelus lake which is the powerline side of I90.

I've come within a half mile of a connecting road at French Cabin Basin but the connection is hiker trail 1309 :( Going to explore further north by Cooper Lake...

Rather than hogging this thread anymore I'll start a new one if I find anything interesting on the Gold Creek north side of i90

That connection did exist at one time but it's long, long, gone. You can find some remnants of it.

Curious, was it at French Cabin creek (1309 hiker only) or was it the trail that is now hiker only at the end of Kachess lk (upper left on map)? x.png

It doesn't show on your map but it's at the top of Little Kachess. As I recall there was a large slide that wiped out the road along the lake, I think the current trail is up on the hill above where the road was, but nobody goes past the lake..
The French Cabin trail was always just a trail. The roads from the Kachess side that intersect it on top of the ridge are relatively new.

The only way I found is this - everything else was hiking / mt bike type of a trail where even a small bike would not make it

Bagged the moto today because heading to Taenum tomorrow and Devils Gulch for the weekend (PM if interested). Unlike the XRL I have to maintain this damn orange bike :)

I'll try Copper lake next week but sounds like the route on the south end of Cleelum lk is the only legal way. Next leg would be Teanaway trails, finally singletrack!

Choose your teanaway ST wisely There is stuff up there that is not condusive to riders that have not done some homework.

    :-)

While they do the construction there is no water in the riverbed and other options available....

That sounds scary, what's the skinny? There is a picture of a rabbit holding a shotgun on the map...
