One more month you think?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looking at the 10 day forecast, I think there's a pretty good chance that a month will do it. Temps for Snoqualmie Pass are going to be in the mid-60's to low 70's every day for the next 10 if the forecast holds...
I am not sure - the forecast is good, but the shady areas have a lot of more than 3 feet. So cross country travel might be longer off. But lower placed areas should be rideable by Memorial weekend
Was up to the T intersection on the 7030 road last Wednesday. It had been plowed in that area, surprised me as I'd never seen that there before. Anyway, where the plow stopped immediately at the right, and into aforementioned shady areas, there was indeed a good 2-3 feet there. And there's a whole lot more elevation to go before you come back down again. It'll be a while. But I'll keep checking.
This is the spot on 7030 > 7038 that takes a while to melt. Does 7030 > 7036 melt sooner, or is Pyramid a better option?
7030 to 7036 melts sooner, probably not by much, but it is aided by jeep travel. But then you still have to get past the spot in your pics to get to the other side and I-90. In my experience Pyramid opens a bit sooner, but there are a couple shady spots that will really hang onto the snow.
Well Who's gonna be first this year?! Post a pic or it didn't happen I'll post when I win!
Has anyone tried the Monday Fiesta Italiano at Whistlin' Jack's? The Thursday prime rib is really good. The night ride back is even better. Can't wait to fuel & feed there....

So what is the route - anything from 410 to I90?
I was thinking Easton to 410. If you skip Tacoma pass what is the highest point? Stampede pass?
The lowest elevation track I can come up with is Stampede > Lester > Windy Gap > Greenwater. Looks like Windy Gap is the highest at 5429ft, wow. May be a while....
Headed out there tomorrow to scout it out
OK, let's add one more rule - every time anyone tries, you must post a picture where you finished here (honesty system)!
My tip - elevation is not the only factor, direction of the slope and threes will play a big factor
Not sure where Windy Gap is, but I got a different winner in mind
Looking forward to reports with photos! I'd like to ride from Stampede over Greenwater during the memorial weekend.
Thanks for the tip, Caltopo.com to the rescue with its sun exposure tools. Quick oil change in the morn and the beastly KLR will be ready for an afternoon battle!
Lets see those pics!
Watch out for bears folks. They are extremely aggressive now. They especially hate ktm and Honda bikes. Red makes them hate. Just bring a friend and a pair of sneakers.
Clocked 61mi of great riding but did not reach the finish line. Final marker at 47.1442, -121.3670
The last NW corner was too thick. Sooo close. I bet the top of 7040 would have taken me all the way to that cold beer waiting for me in Greenwater.
