    Again, great report LB! :bow

    Interesting :scratch
Never heard of this and i've got a few pretty old maps. Any idea when the 'restoration' was done?

For at least 25yrs i've looked down at Striped Butte from Rogers (and elsewhere along the ridge) and wondered if there was a route down. Found signs of a forgotten pack trail, but never anything hinting at a double track (like Trail, which I am familiar with.)

From what I've learned it was right around 1990 or so. It'd be fun to hike it if somebody were to pick me up at the bottom.

LB, Thank you for a truly inspirational ride report. I enjoyed the detailed description of the area. I'm heading out to DVD next week, and I am planning on checking out a few places from your report.:beer

I need to learn to cook and eat like you when on the trail!:dg.

larryboy, thank you for spending the time to write another great story of your trip through DV. I've only done a few long rides, but I could never tell my story as well as you did. I'm planning a ride to the west coast this fall and DV will definitely be on my list of some places to see, Fred.

You'll be able to figure miles with that map. Feel free to PM me with any questions you might have.

Thanks guys!! I feel like I only gave you guys about 10% of the story, the amount of coolness that happens out there on the trail is overwhelming and hard to tell it all...I like to hold back a little for myself and a campfire nearby.

You did another memorable report Rob. I especially liked the four Lippencott videos. I really need to get out there on the bike. Thanks for sharing.

That's awesome that you saw the same rock, it's a pretty big playa to find the same view as somebody else!! :thumb

Just wanted to say...I've helped probably 25 people with DV info over the last few months and I honestly can't remember all of you, so I'll put the info here since you were all reading this.

I just heard that Goler Wash is blown out and impassable. I've got an internet friend from another forum that is going to go take a look at it tomorrow in his Jeep. Impassable in a Jeep might be okay for a dirtbike, I'll let you all know what he comes up with.

Edit/Update: Sounds like the feller got confused and went up Coyote Canyon slightly to the north of Goler Wash...oops, Goler is the same as always from new pictures that I've seen.
