Tapped out with two fat fingers on Tapatalk
I'll be following with interest. Best of luck, I'm sure it'll be the trip of a lifetime.
Prep for my trip next year starts with training rides in September.
Good Luck with the trip. I'm looking forward to your updates.
Don't ship your bikes to Charleston... Customs here seems to be problematic.
I'll post full details when we're done and we properly understand why we had problems and who (if anybody) may have been at fault.
For now we're held up in Charleston, without bikes or luggage and our trip has not yet started.
On the + side, The choice of beer available in the US has improved since my last visit here and Charleston is a nice enough place to be stuck.
Well that sucks.
Certainly does - part of the adventure I guess - great that you're making the most of it. Looking forward to the trip report.
Hex bolts distributed in Wales - still have some left so we'll hang onto those til another chance to distribute them arises.
Next step for me is some instruction as I came off too many times!!
Speak to Clive at MotoScotland.com (Mention my name, there's usually a discount if you've been referred by another customer).
Good rider training is a very worthwhile investment.
Insurance to ride your own bike was tricky but not impossible. However the fleet bikes are pretty good too and not too different from the CCM (Similar in terms of weight, handling and ride quality, but limited fuel range and smaller engines.)
Been a few days I wonder how they are doing?
We can only hope that they are on the road and having too good a time to post.
They posted on the Facebook group yesterday. 350 road miles then, kicking off the TAT today. Few pics but no other detail...
Thanks for the thoughts guys.
We're on the road, but struggling for stable internet.
Taking some time to properly collect my thoughts and get round to doing the RR.
Drumbrakes, I expect to be in Andrews Fri or Sat, maybe will see you there!
We're well into Tennessee now, The RR is many days behind. But you may well catch us up.
I don't Think so. I may stay a couple nights at my girl friend's house plus do an oil change and tire change. She's in Jasper, you went through there right after you crossed the Tennessee River. The further I go the behinder I get! Fell twice yesterday (zero speed) but hurt my clutch wrist, bruised my shift leg and wrenched my back trying to pick up the beast! went slow today but first day I didn't get completely soaked! (only a little soaked this morning.)
Ride safe and enjoy!
Take it steady Thunder-dog. Enjoy your trip and keep us posted!
