As of late yesterday afternoon, Flagstaff officially got 38"+ of snow from this storm. That is an all-time single day record going back to 1915. It isn't supposed to clear out until this evening.
She's got some skinny chicken legs.....
weather app shows it moving from SW to NE, and there's a huge blob of moisture in your area now (bigger in the PHX area)
El Nino for real this year. Not the normal yearly hype.
Can't wait to ski Silverton and Telluride this March!
It's now snowing in southern AZ. We're only 40 miles from MX.
Picture taken from inside our screened patio. The golf course is white. We've never had a winter like this in all the years we've been coming down. Usually it's only a week or two of cold weather. This year it's been below normal since Dec. Shearboy stopped by on Wed and the weather was fine. They're currently hunkered down in the tent on a beach at Puerto Penasco, MX and the wind is ferocious. They hope to make San Felipe today and keep heading south until they find warm weather.
This thread started back in 2007, still looking good 12 years later. Wonder how much time and effort each day it takes for her.
Give us a call when/if you make it down here.
I've had it. We're headed to Big Bend NP. Marfa Lights or Bust!
Winter storm Quiana.... 8" of snow in parts of Las Vegas - I never saw more than a couple inches when I lived there, and it melted same day
Check out some of the pictures
The sun is finally peaking out here in Flag. The long range forecast is back to upper 40s normal weather.
Dale, we have 6 settled feet here north of your old house. Fucking unreal and fucking deep. Could only manage to get truck width up and down the driveway and out to 125 (that's still not plowed). Just went back out to try it again as it quit snowing and actually got lighter. Put on ski goggles and back and forth a couple of times and still no wider but down to the hardback. Snowing since last Saturday.
Oh... as for Kathy Sabine, would hit.
What's the over under on anything in the mountains being rideable before July 4th?
We still have two months of snow season.
Think the weather dude said this has been the coldest Feb. along the front range since 2004.
After my last post a couple hours ago, we got another 6", but the sun is out again. Of course, without clouds, it is forecast to get down to -1F tonight.
@eddyturn - on days like this, I think about the ice dams we had on that roof of the old house and can sit back now with a cocktail in hand and only wish you well. . We will be back up there for a visit sometime soon to get my El Rancho fix and will let you know. If you get down here for the Overland Expo, let me know! Oh, you ever get tired of that crappy, cheap LaRue, let me know...
we've had about 5" fall in the last 90 minutes at our place, still coming down pretty good
Close to 7in in Aurora, this looks about 8 because of some drift.
I was hoping to get some riding in tomorrow but I doubt it now..
~5 here in south Castle Rock
19° and about 2" of snow here in Louisville. Our townhouse complex got plowed out earlier this morning. All I have to shovel is the front porch. I can handle that!
