Rider John and I were in Fairplay eating Sunday morning when the snow started to come down sideways.
We thought best to head back to the warmer temps and the Front Range area. 27 in Fairplay, 81 in Pueblo.
Have fun getting in some late season skiing!

UFFDA as grandma used to say. Had about and inch in Craig this am, but the drive north it kept getting deeper and deeper. Baggs had about 6" It was gone by 10 am though. Now let vent about contractors. We are getting new windows in the basement, one of which is an egress. Lined the guy out in February to cut it Friday. Calls tonight and says he has other obligations! Window installers will be here next weds!!:dirtdog:hair:kboom

May 2nd and winter hangs on in Northwest Montana and Idaho. Coldest start to the year ( Jan-April) in 40 years in Missoula and Kalispell. April 4th wettest on record with 3 inches liquid ( snow and rain). Temps are rideable in the lower elevations if you like riding in 40-50 degrees with sleet. Snow is still feet deep in all the good off road places. Other than that it just blows. Thinking of moving back to AZ. I'm thinking 4 months of a blast furnace is better than 7 months of winter. At least there you can ride up to the cooler temps in an hour or two.

I added up the IQ of all the drivers I saw this morning and came up with a negative number. Too bad people will not be prepared for the weather, There should be a law or something. OH WAIT there is, but only on I70 :baldy Only 2.5 hours to go 20 miles this morning.

To use company lingo - WFH. :D :jkam

Got back from a team lunch and the fire had gone out and the house was getting chilly. I had to relight the wood stove. The struggle is real...

I left the house at 5:30am... at that point the snow had not started but it had rained and was 19 degrees so our canyon was an ice rink.
I crawled down my driveway and the moment I touched the pavement at the bottom my jeep swapped ends. I was going a walking pace and she came around anyways. :patch

    So I was driving appropriately.

On 93 - some fucknut in an audi was road-rage tailgating me - all over my ass. If I had touched my brakes he would have hit me instantly.
When it came to the four lane expansion he jumped in the lane to my left and tried to pass me and instantaneously spun out and off into the median.
    Stupid fuck.
If I wasn't late I would have stopped and went back and bitch slapped him.

2 hours later there were more than 50 crashed cars on that stretch of 93 and the road was closed down.
My neighbor took a video of a pack of cars all smushed together all sliding down the hill by the garbage dump in a group (most of them backwards).

    Yee haw. :photog

    Welcome to Calirado!

Looks like an Indian Summer after this minor squall moves through the area.

I was able to sneak in a ride to Saratoga hot springs last Saturday. Roads were icy on Friday morning, and again on Sunday. Snowy Range road might now be closed for the season. Taking the back roads out of Saratoga we ran into a bit of snow and mud. Just enough to make it interesting.

I don't know about that. I blew two tires, including my spare, a few weeks ago on Last Dollar so my studded tires are going on a month early. Now that I'm prepared it will probably warm up again.
