I really wanted that to be a mini Munsters car on the trailer.

Only the smoothies
if only I weren't so financially irresponsible.....I'd be picking up my dream wagon this weekend.
My wife and I have a child on the way and need a good 2nd car for commuting in the DC area -- we both don't like how lethargic our 1993 Volvo 245 is in traffic, but agree the utility of Volvo stationwagons is unmatched, even by our fullsize Land Rover. So I got the permission to find us another station wagon and was given a $15k budget. Decent low mile XC70s start at $25k; nice V60s can be had for $16-18k, but not much at $15k and they're not really stationwagons. Acura Sportwagons are impossible to find and while the Regal Tour X is prob one of the best deals out there you can't get them for less than $25k.
So I began the hunt for a nice clean V70. I had the R in the back of my mind but figured there'd be no way I'd find one easily, much less a low mile. A nice one just sold on Bring a Trailer and I figured it'd be at least 3-6 months before another surfaced. well, it only took me two weeks.
i just bought this. 2000 (P80) Volvo V70 R... with 81,000 miles. 1 of 500 brought by Volvo to the USA. astonishingly clean. bucket list car for me. i'm over the moon. $14k. bummer about the autos, but ALL the P80s brought to the US were autos apparently. Only Canada got manuals. it positively growls.
My 1995 Turbo (not an R) wagon is jealous.
you have the better color combo though! red over tan is the best by far
I used to live down the street from a guy who has two of these in his driveway. I had an S60R at one point. Nice cars!
That's a charp chort!
I like the ad too.
"... Don’t waste my time with your two hour talks and stories/dreams. You want it, come get it with cash in your hand. Check your wife before you even call and waste my time. Thanks...."
This should be boiler plate language in every Craigslist ad.
Who made that intake manifold?
That just is very cool.....love it.
Probably...self made Slant Six manifold with...
Shades of the Chry/Dodge/Ply Cross Ram setup used on V8s in the early 60s
Mopar did offer a Hyper Pak manifold with longer runners for the Slant Six
I wasn’t sure I wanted the red, my last one was black over tan, but it is growing on me.
Clifford was a company that made performance parts for various I6 engines back in the '60s and '70s. Their slogan was 6=8. Might be one of theirs.
Looks like they're still around.
I always wanted the 850R wagon
