This followed me home yesterday, it will have to do for now. My rule for cars, once they're gone, they're gone. I don't try to recapture the old magic, time for new magic.

My second car bought as a winter beater for $250. Mine had a few prime modifications: 4 offroad lights mounted to the roof rack. A brown full vinyl top that was peeling up like scales (half of it disappeared when I made the mistake of taking it through a car wash). The passenger side doors, just above the "wood" were sliced through and filled in with Bondo, painted over without even sanding it down. Cherry bomb exhaust. Factory rear air shocks pumped all the way up. One headlight cover propped open with a bamboo stick. Enameled sheet metal pieces from an old dishwasher rivetted over the rust holes between the rear wheels and bumper. "6.6 liter" emblems on the hood. And, a junkyard windshield washer reservoir hidden in the spare tire compartment and plumbed to a hole just above the passenger rear tire, with the power switch hidden under the dash, and filled with 50/50 bleach and water. Badass.:lol3

That was what "badge" styling was looking back in the day...

Many would get '57 Cheby Nomad, which is nicely styled no doubt, but I'd go for rarer Olds/Buick if I were looking for (2dr over 4dr if there was one)...

I like that a lot. We had a 4door sedan for a while (not a daily driver) that was fun when it ran reliably, which was not often.
