KBB lists your car at $3600 tops for this area..and that is in excellent condition which yours is not..it is very good condition which is a bit less $$$..

KBB isn't always accurate with older, somewhat collectible cars. I would have guessed a decent V70R runs roughly $6K. A quick search on cargurus shows a range of $5500 to $19K (dealer). I didn't look at the ad too close and the pics were a bit limited, but with only 98K miles, I would think his price is pretty close to market.

This isn't just an old V70. I think they have their problems, but they are damn cool volvos IMO.

It's been to an ADV Rally so considering the history, it's more.

Here's something odd I just noticed about my XC70: sometimes, when I take a fairly hard left-hand turn, the volume of my radio increases substantially. It seems to happen mostly when it's cold(er).

Is there something known to pros about this, or do I just start troubleshooting my wiring harness?

All I can think of is the speed sensitive volume - maybe you accelerate hard away from a stop turning left?

If it were the speed-sensitive volume, I'd expect it to return to previous level when I'd finished?

I should sit down and play with the fader/balance control and see if all my speakers are working, I think.

posting pics separately because i have noticed that the pics still dissappear when the ad is deleted...I'm always looking in Arizona since i used to live there. also old cars are well preserved in the desert climate where they dont rust....

It's the front, driver-side speaker wiring.Somewhere between the speaker and the grommet at the door. I've had a belly full of wiring harness stuff at work last week, so I'm leaving it alone for now.

So my transmission seems to have started to slip. Presumably the unusually hot afternoon precipitated it.

It's due for a trans fluid change (had it done at 130k, now I'm at 183k). The question is whether I bother with it, or save those funds towards a replacement (trans or vehicle). Given the overall vehicle condition, I'd expect replacing the vehicle is going to be the better option if replacement is the way to go.

    Opinions welcome.

Finally getting to some work on my 1990 240. It was overheating and due for a timing belt, so it got parked six years ago because I didn't even have time to wind my watch. Now it is up on the queue and it needs far more than when it went to sleep. But at least the revival has begun. It has good bones - a rust-free Florida car with 108K miles.

I feel your pain. I ended up parting/junking my MBZ wagon when the transmission went south. It was nice enough I could have justified replacing the transmission, but couldn't justify taking the time to do it. Although I still kick myself for not grabbing a compatible 5 speed transmission when I had the chance. If I had bought that I definitely would have spent the time for the (relatively easy) conversion.
