I thought the 2.7 V6 was the PRV engine

well I replaced the fuel rail pressure sensor, as the general consensus was that it’s not if it goes, but when it goes. I road tested it several times, starting and stopping the engine repeatedly to try to get it to not start, but it did each time.

I have 2 XC90's but both are 2.5L and I have had to replace the fuel pressure sensor on both.

I am not certain the 960 engine really is a PRV joint effort....there was a troll here who stated these were PRV engines..but PRV engines were v6s so it seems....Volvo 960 is an Inline..or straight 6 not a V6...so honestly..i am not sure...

Glad to hear you got it sorted out..I havent a clue about the XC90s but they appear to be good vehicles...I just have no experience with them.

I learned to drive in a 122 & got my license in it in 1966. it was the first car I owned. I had a couple 544s after that, then a 144, and bought a new 242 in '84. decided I really needed a 4 wheel drive in 1991 and bought a Toyota AllTrack... best little car I ever owned. I still love the old Volvos though & would have one if....

somewhere long ago (70's) there was a guy that made a couple 544s 4x4.... maybe using old jeep frames & gear? don't recall, but I always wanted to do a project like that

I've seen this one several times lately but it always takes me by surprise and I miss the shot. Pulled out ahead of him in traffic and waited two miles for him to catch up but he's just not that type of driver. I finally had to pull over and take my chances with the holiday shopping traffic. This is the best I could do. Big driving lights on the front. Very clean old 122S.

I got some parts for my 850 last week from a guy wrecking one - drivers mirror that got knocked off in a car park, and an AC switch, summer here so needed that. He said he's sold the whole thing - it's going to be turned into a submarine ! They wanted something strong, it's going to be wrapped in something, a hole cut in the roof....???? If it ever makes the news I'll report.

I’ve had one of these (pic from net): 02D4F7A7-6F38-4F51-8C32-C4A542994F5C.jpeg
    440. A real POS, but I got it for free! Put a new alternator and a battery in it and it kept the missus going for about six months or so back in the day...

    This: 6000E8D6-659D-422B-BF74-505776D6518E.jpeg
B10M with Dutch Berkhof bodywork. Bought it from the operator (this is his pic) and during the next four-ish years travelled Europe with it. I fully converted it to a motorhome / tour bus. 19 seats, 10 fixed beds and a few more on call. It had a household heatpump / AC and all the goodies in it in the end. I miss that thing...

    Now have this: 5BB7E3AC-7C26-4ACC-8820-1C9950FBB2E2.jpeg
B10M, just a bit newer, with Belgian Jonckheere bodywork (here still in PO’s colours). It’s in the very beginning of it’s conversion. Got it a week before my bands European tour last summer (Finland), threw the seats out (left 14 in) and put a makeshift kitchen and eight beds in it, oh, and a towball! Took us all over the place for two months kitted like that, looking like this: 12C14F58-B406-4F3A-9F7A-08FB18BE87F0.jpeg
That’s a ”portable” stage at the back and makes the combination 18,7m long.

Getting back at it next summer...

Good is a relative term. Just got to 30,000 on our 2017 xc90. Already went through a set of tires and rear pads. The folks at the dealership said that's common for the xc90. Personally I think it's pretty bad. Also intermittent electrical issues. This is our second 2017 xc90. We have the first one back after around 2000 miles.

I personally prefer wagons to SUVs so I never really have looked too closely at the XC60s and XC90s...If I wanted an awd suv i'd go with a Lexus or even a Hyundai over a Volvo...

Do I post this here in the "Volvos" thread, or in the "Station Wagons" thread, or in the "Abandoned" thread?

If you need focus to tell that's a 245 you're beyond help.

I'm on my umpteenth Volvo estate and have really never ever had a problem, some -70 models were prone to rusting after they changed the paints .
But mechanically, never and tomorrow I'll pick up my latest ,a V90 XC D5.

    Here's my first experience with Volvo: a chinese-built, 2018 S90 T6 awd.

I got a smokin' deal on a two year lease. Lease is up in a few months. Retired last week. Next car will probably be a Honda.
