We did have a good ride - popped up to Fletchers Bay to stay at the DOC Backpackers behind the camping ground. We should try and organise a short notice Coromandel weekend over winter.

No really. I was there with my son James doing MX and they turned up. The orginisers offered them a race over the lunch break.

They did pretty well with only one coming to greef. Those big orange bikes are bloody heavy to man handle.

On the Kawhia/Raglan Rd today, I found a trashed car, same as my wife's...so I stopped for some parts shopping. A couple of guys on ADV bikes saw me with my tools out and stopped to ask if I was OK. Pity I didn't have the panniers on today, I could've filled them up. Thanks for stopping anyway guys.

Does anyone know who the group of riders were, who were riding a bunch of 'classic' bikes north up SH3 last week?

I had stopped for a lunchtime pie at Piopio when maybe 6-8 bikes (mostly Japanese '70's-80's type vintage from memory) went past. Notably a couple of 6 cylinder Hondas.

So, who had the couple of (road reg) 500 EXC's on a trailer today at National Park? Big tanks and Giant Loop bags.

Looked like a well set up unit.
