I've tiptoed thru reports before and decided to make this one a true "tell all", so I did. I mean, in the first two pages I out myself on a ticket in Wyoming and camping on a reservation without a permit. :dunno

I've been throwing trash into trash cans that then gets dumped in a landfill eventually leaching into somebodies water supply. It's the way things are and I don't feel bad. I mean really, who are we to throw the first mirror? :lol3

Glad you liked the report and seriously...welcome to this nutty place. :wave

Thought it looked familiar, great RR Larry, never sat still long enough to read it through.

    Damn good ol chap!

But down to it. Sick RR! I am taking off this summer because I graduated and before grad school I need to do something besides work through summer ( I have since I was 15). I have wanted to do this bad but you have just pushed me over the edge and everyone who says I am crazy and irrational for it, because of you, I say thank you! :freaky

Rob, Thanks so much for finally getting around to fixing all the broken photo and video links! I very much enjoyed re-reading this classic. It's your reports like this one, that provided so much inspiration to me and defined what I wanted from motorcycling.

Off to find the next repaired classic. Looks like this one is also up again...

Thanks Dave. I came across this today:

“The most important thing in life is to stop saying 'I wish' and start saying 'I will.' Consider nothing impossible, then treat possibilities as probabilities.”

Just spent the last 3 days reading through this AGAIN. It's like a book that never gets old. I saw stuff I missed the last 2 times and was tense during the concussion and lightening strikes even though I know how (well) it ends.

Electronic literature - may not hold up (without maintenance) as long as a book, but your continued efforts are appreciated.

Agreed! I've been reading LB's reports since i signed up to this site many moons ago and they've always been a source of inspiration. I'm going to give credit where it's due and give your RR's the shout out that they deserve as well. Your solo trips in the west have given me such a yearning to get back to the desert that I've already begun planning next years trip using some of your trips as reference! :ricky

Thank you both for being part of this awesome community!

I often think about replicating this trip, but I think I'd be disappointed. As Lewis Carroll said, "It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then".

Ten years ago I set out on this trip, I can still reach out and in my mind grasp the bars, feel the 610 thumping away as I breath deeply the smell of damp sage brush. Literally drenched in blood, sweat and tears, this trip was a life defining moment in time that I will always treasure.
