EDIT : ( 7-16-2020 ) Since the border is closed until at least August 21st, I'm sorry to announce the ride is CANCELLED.

I have an alternative ride planned that is done entirely in the lower peninsula and a few miles on the Indiana Toll Road. Goto the Lake Huron SS1K webpage for more info about the alternative ride: Lake Huron SS1K The ride starts & ends at the Speedweay station next to the Denny's on the west side of Lansing ( just east of I-69 on M-43/Waverly Rd. )

EDIT: ( 3-20-2020 ) Because of the COVID-19 Virus, and the closure of the U.S. & Canada border, this ride may possibly not be run.

However, since August 15th is approximately 20 weeks way, I'm hoping there is a chance the border will be re-opened by then and the ride will be back on.

The All Yooperland SS1K ride will be run on June 20th, either way.

Thinking about organizing an IBA Lake Huron SS1K sometime in July or August - exact date to be decided.

    EDIT - Date is AUGUST 15th , 2020

EDIT : I have a webpage for the ride now ; Lake Huron SS1K

I have several Riders asking me about doing this. Wondering if anyone else is interested.

It would be a 1,012 mile ride that starts & ends at Denny's on the west side of Lansing ( just east of I-69 on M-43/Waverly Rd. ) and would need to be done in < 24 hours. See: Iron Butt Association for more info if you aren't familiar with the IBA SaddleSore rides. This isn't a big group ride. Riders can organize their own group ride or form groups the morning of the ride or do the ride solo. Trikes and Spyders are welcome.

Here are the turn-by-turn directions for the ride : 2020 IBA Lake Huron SS1K

BTW, if by chance you have been convicted of a felony or DUI you probably will not be allowed to enter Canada ( unless it's been at least 10 years since you have been convicted or DUI probation has ended, assuming no other crime was included with the DUI ) .

Awesome Jim! At the very least, I can use your plan as a guideline, but I really hope I can make the date when that gets determined.

    Jim,
I'm in. Hopefully a little less rain at the start this time around Huron than last time you organized this ride.

    Either works for me.

I am pretty flexible on the date except I have plans for July 10-13.

    Jim,
Correction for me. August 15 would be better. IF Evelyn is ok then we have a trip planned over the weekend of August 8.

It is on the calendar, but just now realizing that I didn't push this issue when discussing summer plans. I was so happy to get the Trifecta weekend (mostly) green lit that I overlooked this one. I will have to bring this up to the powers that be, but first I need to decide if my original plan of doing each lake ride individually before the BIG loop is worth it, or just tag along here and get them out of order.

I'll probably be glad to have them all on my resume regardless of order... And the group pre-approved thing is so nice, so I'll probably just go that way. THANKS @IBAJIM for getting these together!

Hmm, 350 miles to Lansing, 1012 miles around Lake Huron, and 350 miles back home...could be in the cards....but have to get a passport though (burns my a$$ I have to get a passport even though I have a gold star drivers license now (federally mandated...that should be good enough)...
