Got part of the highway pegs installed, waiting for the pegs. Gonna use some none folding BMX pegs until I find some folding ones that will work.

looking at both cvt pulleys i can tell there is alot of room on the table for tuning. i shimmed the variator boss .08" which shaved over a second off 0-40 times and lost no top speed. i ordered a longer belt as there is tons of room left on each pulley that the belt isnt touching. the belt should be at the very top of each pulley depending on if your in “low” or “high” gear. i will let you know what it does. i can get it to wheelie now which is awesome lol

Got some 1977 Yamaha XS400 pegs off eBay for $30 bucks. In the pictures they looked like a decent fit. There pretty good. Really cut down on the vibrations. 57D5F71B-D2FE-4204-A227-657063BBDEC7.jpeg A5546849-AD22-4482-98F6-ABDFA368033E.jpeg C9040F56-2E13-459B-9812-596F1EEAD983.jpeg

Best part about buying a Chinese bike?? The metal you get after you unbox it! lol I have a normal dirt bike stand I use for my 100s that doesn’t work at all for these odd sized bikes. Now I have the perfect stand!

Made a "high speed" run on the scooter on the way back from doing some work on our daughter's house on Sanibel Island. It is going on the market any day now but don't think it is going to sell quickly.

Rider me at 5'11" and 205 lbs sitting upright with about 400 KM on the odometer. Flat as a pancake road with no wind I got 54 MPH max on my speedometer app on my cell phone.
Scooter speedometer reading a bit over 60 MPH so about 7 MPH optimist.

Both the ones we bought are right around the same mph. My speedo is way off but 100km is exactly 50 on the gps and 80km is 40. Makes it easy to calculate. But since I live in the country I’m just floored at all times lol

I pulled the seat and the pan to get to the carb to adjust the throttle cable at the carb end since the adjustment at the twist grip was all the way out and there was still a lot of free play. I got rid of most of the free play. I hopefully thought that the carb wasn't being opened all the way so now I might get a few more MPH but a test ride still yielded a max of 54 GPS MPH.
That is probably fast enough for me around town here and in the mountains of WNC when we finally get there. Might be a few months before we head north to motorcycle Mecca.

Checked the valves today. Both had NO gap. I’m at 300 km. 598AC09A-01F3-4699-8776-156BBC75DED0.jpeg

Note to self: Check valves tomorrow.
Should have done that when I was in there adjusting the throttle cable at the carb.

The valves on my scooter where not that far off. The exhaust was a little tight and the intake was almost right. I set them at .004
and I swear it seems to pull better!

wow! My top speed is down after I changed roller weights but i got my 0-40 time to around 7.5 seconds. I’m tearing up the yard with all the spinning lol. Gotta decide if top speed or acceleration is going to be more important for the trip
