Great. Start a thread here in Battle Scooters so can follow along.
You could also use a 13” gy6 rim and use 13” car tires: https://gokartsusa.com/parts-for-chinese-dirtbike-atv-gy6-scooter-4095.aspx for a bit less.
You could also get a long case motor to lengthen the wheel base and make more room for a bigger tire.
There are big bore kits for the GY6 and even more CC GY6 engines available.
Rode down to the Chesapeake Bay this morning. 78 miles at pretty much full throttle and burnt 1.38 gallons(56.5 MPG). I used an app called Bikemap which sent me down only small back roads. Had a blast!
59.4 MPH Max Speed?
must have been on one of the 5 hills we have here in eastern VA lol. It goes 53-54 on flat stuff
That's why I said driveline, not merely engine. It would extend the wheelbase(longer case & swingarm) besides being stronger. That would only leave beefing up the front end slightly.
I need to go back and readjust the valves. Should have read this label on the engine. I set them too loose using the owner's manual specs. Just off a bit. Next adjustment at 1k KM. I am at 500 KM. Hope to get my tag on Wednesday so I can ride her more.
what did you set them to? .6mm is nothing
.6mm is .023 inch
.05 mm to .08 mm as according to the label on the engine.
Also add a mini tach
Finally got my scooter tagged so I am legal on the road. Also installed some fixed highway pegs on the scooter. I will give them a test ride tomorrow.
Took a ride out to our ranch about 30 miles East of our house in Fort Myers,FL. Nice ride except for the love bugs that are bad East of town.
Arriving at the front gate.
Found two new calves in my brother in law's herd. He is leasing the ranch because his place is almost out or grass. We are in a drought so grass is not doing well.
Scooter seems to have more pep, maybe broken in more, close to 800 km now.
Took a ride out to Fort Myers Beach and Lover's Key State Park. Just about perfect weather and not many people out so was nice.
Getting about 80 MPG for the last several tanks.
Had a nice ride out to Captiva Island
and then back home to do the 1k km oil change (actually 950 km on the scooter) using 750 ml of Rotella Synthetic 15W40 .
The magnetic drain plug was pretty much free of metal which was nice to see.
Nice ride out to Sanibel/Captiva the other day looking for a bikini model like this one from a few years ago.
Did a chop job on the rear fender, not as severe as the OP's.
Moved the reflector to the support bracket attachment.
Just installed a magnetic drain plug magnet on the engine and final drive using this set from Ebay. Probably not necessary but all my other vehicles have them and didn't want the scooter to feel left out. 1205 km on her and she is running just fine.
Somehow I have worn my rear tire out in just 700km. Got a real Kendra from the local Vespa dealer. The only size that had was 130/70/12. Fits perfect and is the stock size for the rear on the zuma125
That's that wonderful chinese rubber for you. The stock chinese tire on my 50 was gone very early too. I've put more miles on the replacement than I got out of the original and you can hardly detect any wear in it.
Sorry to hear you had a little setback. You should be good to go on the new tire.
Wow. I have 1400 km on my scooter and no sign of any wear on front or rear tire. Wonder what would cause that tire to wear out that fast.
