Following on from last year's successful Burning Man and Beyond RR and 26,000 kms of the best North America had to offer, I fly this Saturday for part two. 8 weeks of riding and catching up with inmates and friends, plus a few icebergs in NF and lots of wildlife in AK!

Firstly thanks to a few amazing inmates who helped me plan and kept the bike in the US over the winter months - Steve C in Newport OR, Tuckers (our spirit guide and providor of fine motorcycles!). Girlryder, Ryan Carman and the Yobos of Canada! Thanks

And a bunch of folks who extended friendship last year either meeting up to ride and or providing tent space accomodation. joshuaz223, drybones and urbancowboy.

So I fly on Saturday 14th into NYC then off to PEI, NS and NF before starting west over the Gaspe Peninsula and what will be a lost weekend back in Algonquin with the Yobos before running hard for BC to meet Mrs Peter640 and a couple of bodgy Kiwis and go north!!

Should hit PEI or NS for my 55th birthday (fuck that sounds older than I really like!)

We'll end up in LA to fly home and pack the bikes for shipping to New Zealand for the next adventures in 2017!

So the Klim gear is freshly water proofed, bags are packed, insurances bought, satellite phone charged ... the bike has been serviced and has new boots and panties .. were ready!

    Lets go!

They are scarce this year but if you need anything on the island let me know. I know a place or two.

Cape Spear is around 10km as the crow flies from my house. Come here and grab some idea of the culture before you explore the island.
Drop in. Take a load off. Do some laundry. Take the tour. Grab a bed. Do some bike maintenance and head west.
You would not be the first Aussie to darken the door.

Prepare yourself for east coast hospitality at it's finest!
The lads and I stayed with damurph last year whilst trapsing about on the East Coast and Trans Lab Adventure, and it most certainly was a highlight!

Absolutely. I would also recommend going to Homer instead of Prudhoe bay. But that's just me.

I think we can make D2D on our way back down. There are a couple of more relaxed days.

Any idea how busy the motels get up in AK at this time of year ... we have camping gear but I feel I might be allergic to bears ...

PS open to accomodation advice from folk to add to the research we have done to date.

Julie's return flight is from Deadhorse so we might be a bit committed to going there ... !

Packing now and feeling that mix of ahgghhrrggg and yipeeeeee ...

    How exciting!

Julie's pile and mine! Spot the difference! I am a little more open plan in my approach!

i fly in 15 hours so I felt i should throw a few things together ...

J comes out early June as she is a more responsible parent!

Luckily our youngest daughter passed her driving test on Monday so we are unencumbered somewhat whilst we travel.

    See you Stateside ...

Best I make Phoebe famous for a second!

    Post driving test ...

Not sure who was happiest, her or me! Her being able to drive makes my ability to be an irresponsible parent so much easier ... and she has my car for two months ... this can only go well :) IMG_8443.JPG

We had no trouble at all getting rooms in June. We did camp at D2D and a couple other places (like TOTWH when border was closed).
