I almost dropped you a line yesterday about coming. But then talked to my son and I'm going to take the boat to the keys for lobstering and fishing. He's staying at a campground right outside the keys, just too dam convenient not to go.

That rafting is going to feel sooo good.:clap Enjoy.:freaky

If Sanjoh is planning the ride route, then I'm riding my new bike.

Sounds awesome. And chilly. But still awesome.

Bit of advice, if you're floating the river, start at the midway point. Between the upper and midway points the river tends to get filled with water plants and such, plus the lower half scenery is much better. And if you don't have a float, there's like a dozen places within 2 miles that rents them.

Not sure if I'll make it, but I'm fairly close in Gville so give me a PM if help is needed.

    Cheers.

Of course he is going......This is one place I got him hooked on a few years back......I try to take all summer time visitors there.....We love the river...this is the first time we have done the camping there.....but we need to try out our new tent and motorcycle bag set up.....:clap

We think if you can tent camp in August in FL...you should be able to tent camp anywhere......:roflDon't forget your sunscreen and bug spray!:eek1

They allow nothing ----NOT even bottled spring water on the river......I called at Oscar's request and too much riff raff they have had to clean out of the river so I guess the refreshments have to be done at the campground......

You know it must be that College crowd that ruined it for us OLD folks.....:pot

I asked about that but they said no due to people putting other than water in the camel backs.........yugggggg but if you take it and they won't let you take it down the river they do have lockers where we get on the tram to take us North....that is all I can say.....:huh

I don't see how they can keep you from taking water with you, it's not contraband anywhere else that I have heard of. Not even in China or Russia. :lol3
