Come on down danbrew, Most of us have met on this site and use "the farm" as a Safehouse to tell our stories and an excuse to spend a couple eves around a campfire, mix that with some great and sometimes challenging gravel roads through the Illinois river valley and you have " a ride at the farm"

The following has been previously posted by avid farm hands.

Ride in, all standard rules apply:
    No whining
Small groups for the rides. (4-5 bikes).
Meet up for lunch or at the end of the day.
Show respect for the land and courtesy to the people who live there.
Watch out for livestock and mail carriers powersliding around gravel roads.

And for those who haven't ridden down there...
    Be self sufficient.
Pick up your bike quickly or someone will take a picture and you will see it on the internet.

    Mutineer's addition

gun and whisky do not occupy the same space and time

leave the Farm in better shape than you found it

if you cannot laugh at yourself you will not have fun

if your wife makes homemade wine prove it

Anyone who is needs daycare, cant shit in the woods, or has a tendancy to whine about trivial things, please refrain from comming.
As allways, there will be no ammenities and No improvements. Whiskey is good, as long as it is old enough to vote and cigars are a fine way to pay homage.

We'll probably be down around 9:00 or so tomorrow to cut firewood.

Chain, are you still planning on being there to burn off the blue stem? If not, what area would you like us to get the wood from?

There are some trails @ the Farm, but mostly its twisty gravel, I believe the gps route is about 240 miles of gravel, lots of nice curvy stuff and yes we do have an occasional beer around the fire. :freaky
This may better be described as a meeting of the minds where all of the worlds problems are solved from an adv perspective, if you are looking for an organized or sanctioned event... this aint it

hope to see you at the farm :thumb

I am not sure wether or not I'll be there. I'm trying to get my shit together to take a week or so off while floundering in the busiest first quarter since 2000 and starting construction on a new home while closing on the sale of two properties and raising a house full of preadolescents. I will try to make it

I am leaving it up to u. you can find wood anywhere on the farm. Nothing that is already down is sacred unless it is a ground blind.
Question is where do you want to camp. on top with a veiw? or in the shire where the winter ride was.

This will be left up to the woodcutters unless someone post their opinions tonight. As for me I'm going out for some beers at a friends big 40 party

I find it easiest to drive around, locate logs, then drag them to the desired fire location, and cut them in 4' lengths. thats just what works for me.

My vote is for a camp with a veiw

I'll check the site when I get back in tonight

    Dont forget the martini bar

    cheers

    chain

Where do you guys want to camp?
I wanna be on top :lol3

The top of the hill sounds good to me. Plus it makes it easier for the people who have never been there before to find the farm when its dark.

I'm not going to make it tomorrow for wood cutting. I can maybe do it on a day closer to the ride, or just bring a chainsaw along that weekend.

I guess if it's gonna rain and snow the wood cutting will have to wait. Maybe I'll do some motorcycle maintenance instead.

I'll be there with the Vodka! Unfortunately myself, Fireman88, and Lip will be riding down early Friday morn. Spend Friday trying to wreck our rides, Party hard Friday night (I'll have the Martinis waitng as you all arrive). Then on the road by 7:00 am Sat. to get back to the reaL world by noon. Mi compadres have obligations and would not find their way home without me holdind their hands.:rofl

Actually after Daytona I'll pushing it just making an appearance. so, anyone wants to ride Friday, be there by 9:00 am. The three of us and whoever else is there will ride on Friday some 18,000 miles or so.
