Matthiessen state park is nice. I have some pics of the water falls their that I will show you sometime. Another plus to going to Matthiessen is that it is right by Starved Rock (almost across the street). Also, no offical camping at Matthissen, so you might be able to hide out after dark or get in after they close the park for the evening.

BTW, when my dad was a kid, he grew up around that area. One day he was their w/ his sisters and fell down a waterfall named Devil's paintbox.

I wish I could help. Should we start a "Get Joe a tank of gas" Paypal fund? :rofl

My only advice, take her easy, and if she's easy take her twice.

Slight hijack, I'm gonna be up thataway next week, dunno the day yet. Have a delivery in Platteville Wisconsin and a pickup the next day in Elk Grove. My boss may be with me :bluduh but I'll see if maybe I can get free for a couple hours. Anyone up for it?

Another thought...Starved Rock has now put wooded walkways over the paths...so that makes it not as cool as it used to be before they were wooded.

They also concreted some of the remote walkway along the river. Said they did it to control erosion. It must of cost alot of "green", would imagine they had to it from barges.

You can still get a solid 8-9 mile run from Ottawa Canyon lot to the lodge and back. How many miles are you up to MotoJoe???

Hey runner, there is a 100 mile run comming up in McNaughton Park in Pekin, IL, one of my friends helps with support, I believe there is a shorter run as well. He said there are already 60 people signed up for the 100 mile Trail run all ln the woods of the park

You must be the same one guy who wanted to purchase every bike I've tried to sell over the last couple of years : :1drink :)))

    I know the story.....

" You have clients with cash right" ?? I told one of them that I could ship the bike to him in my "spaceship". :eek1 He then acted confused??
