I'm back!! Ever since I sold my 09 GTS 250 Super to fund a DR650, which I don't even have anymore, I have missed my Vespa! I knew it would be only a matter of time before I would buy another. I had been keeping an eye out for a later model 300 with ABS and TC. Then I started seeing some 2 year old new stock for some pretty decent numbers but all at least 300 miles away.

Then I start reading about the update for 2020 and the new HPE engine plus other niceties. Gets me thinking that maybe I should just get brand spanking new. My 65th Birthday is November 30th, and decided to go ahead and get what I wanted for my birthday!

So I stopped into my local Vespa dealer who took good care of my old 250 and Sym Fiddle before that. Next thing I know I am signing for this beauty. Emerald Green with brown saddle and matching top box. Never paid full list for any car or bike before!!! But you only turn 65 once!

It is. I have known Phil for years. His shop took good care of my last Vespa and a Sym I used to own. Nice guy, definitely an enthusiast shop.

Beautiful bike! I'm riding an '07 GTV250, but I've been looking at the new GTS's myself. Mine just turned over 30K miles & still purrs like a kitten. Enjoy the ride!!!

I don't know about 90's, but something tells me this bike will be the last bike I sell.

Buying yourself new toys is a benefit to getting old. :clap I'm working onbuying a used Vespa 300 from a friend. And eyeballing Cabanza's thread on the new Honda underbone. Just thinking to myself - if I got bad news from the Doc, what would stop me from going out and buying one? Why not buy what I want now? That is what I saved all them years for, right?

    Congrats on that beauty!

Picked up my beauty today. Just stopped home for lunch and I am off scooting some more. Here are a couple of quick pics and a few observations.

Very smooth! Smoother than I remember my 09 250 GTS Super to be. Smoother engine. Smoother suspension. Smoother over rough roads. Smoother at highway speeds. I think Smoother is a good description of how it feels. Easily hits an indicated 80 where you start to feel rev limiter kicking in. Even that was kind of smooth. Handling is light and...well...smooth. Piaggio has nailed it with this one!

Some quick pics for you and then 2 more bites of my samwhich and off scooting I will go!
