We (GF, I, Ural sidecar) are currently (April 2012) in Jakarta and will spend the next month or two in Indonesia. Happy to meet up with fellow travelers or locals and see what adventure can be had.

:clap Hey Andy .. you're from FALMOUTH ?

I'm in Newquay right now, but will be riding through Java, from Bali, next month (May).

Any proper-job pasty shops in jogja?

    Cheers

Alright keef, I'm originally from leicestershire but I've been falmouth based for the last 14 years. I live in Jogjakarta but when I'm in the Uk I am usually found working at Square-sail in charlestown harbour, st austell.
I think that I will be back in europe working by the end of april which is a real shame. But I can point you in the direction of some really good guys around here.
I have some space if you want to stay over for a few days and a beach house on the south coast for a real relax. You are welcome to use my tools and I have some workers and secure workshop facilities should you need them.
Pasties, well I have just made a brick oven in the back yard but my other-half is a rubbish cook so you may have to make your own. If I get the time before I go I'll try to make a batch and freeze a couple down for you.
If it sounds appealling pm me your email.
    Cheers mate

Andy - you are too kind.

Damn shame you won't be around next month though .. :(:

If all goes well, then we should be arriving on Java (from Bali) around about May-23rd. I have a loose itinerary that I've worked-out for our westward ride across Java .. BUT I would really appreciate it if you would cast your eye over this and let me know if and where this could be improved upon.

I will, if I may, send you a PM or an e-mail, outlining our plan's details, sometime over the course of this weekend.

    All the best

Can someone recommend a cheap yet nice hostel in Jakarta and Yogy with safe parking for the bike, so that it's behind a locked gate or inside? :)
    Thanks ahead
