it'll be 1 click unsubscribe. I'll PM anyone in this thread who seems to prefer not receiving the email and we'll go ahead and remove you before it goes out.
yea we need to revive this in some way. Will have a meeting of the minds with @Baldy and we'll figure something out. Too many awesome photos for us not to feature them.
Good question, right now we're just going to go by a fancy algorithm.. human + some forum stats around engagement, recency etc. The first email will actually be a bit broader just b/c it's the first one. We'll try and keep making them better. In the future maybe we can have a fancy server somewhere that can figure out what each person would prefer to see, too soon though :)
Heh, I just updated my account to have my real email address instead of my "spamcatcher" email address, so I can receive this awesomeness :) Charles.
Hummm....don't over think it. You've got a great, large, talent pool. Use it. I'll start it off with this one.... https://advrider.com/f/threads/the-pan-american-trail.1221585/ ...
It kinda sounds a bit of “fear of missing out” to me. But I’m not on any social media sites like Twitter or Facebook or Instagram ect, ect. Never have, never will. So I guess I’m a old fart. I too miss the photos from the home page. I would watch mesmerized as they slowly rotated through. They were inspirational for yet to be travelers and adventurers.
Or....we could use this thread to high light other threads we like. And bypass the whole email thing all together. Here's another one.... https://advrider.com/f/threads/round-the-world-accidentally-on-a-blue-150cc.1161843/
Ok, one more (maybe) and I'm done....... https://advrider.com/f/threads/superhuman-electric-guitar-gods.1085443/
Awesome, more spammy bullshit I don't want in my email. If I want ADVrider there is a convenient web address I can go too. Part of what I like about ADV rider is that I trust the admins not to do annoying/spammy stuff with the email I gave them. If you want to highlight certain threads put it on the home page or as an "opt-in" digest email.
This is a fascinating topic and maybe about as polarizing as our politics. For me, I have about 6 email lists I'm addicted to, like Nuzzel, Pocket, PostMost...and alerts make me crazy unless they're for something really important. Otherwise, they are spam to me. I think I've heard every variation of strong opinions on this emails versus alerts you can imagine.
