I was just starting the bike to grab the Tag...... bruced!!!!
Come a little South and grab the new one.
Darn it. I thought this was west of Madison, not east. Was wondering how I got out to Hanover without seeing it... Then when I realized what was up, I had myself too committed to keep heading west. Someone else move this to somewhere more west so I can have more fun riding somewhere else later this week/next week!
Maybe I play correctly this time.
Clue Wendell Wilkie born here.
“If I could write my own epitaph, and if I had to choose between saying, "Here lies an unimportant President" or, "Here lies one who contributed to saving freedom at a moment of great peril," I would prefer the latter.” Wendell Willkie
“Party lines are down. Nothing could make that clearer than the nomination by the Republicans of a liberal Democrat who changed his party affiliation because he found democracy in the Republican Party.” [Wendell Willkie speaking of himself in speech accepting the Republican presidential nomination, August 17, 1940]
Thanks Greg for tagging this location. This is why I love these threads. He seems to have been a true patriot. I love a man/woman that is not willing to sacrifice freedom for safety. America was founded on this principle. Too bad he isn’t with us today, we could use him. RIP Wendell Willkie.
You should have told me that you were heading there. I would have met you somewhere for hard boiled egg or snack.
Another gorgeous day in America’s bread basket. I have no idea where I was when taking these photos but I thought I’d share some of the sights along the way to the new tag…
Went through dozens of these corn tunnels…
New tag… (I know where this is)
I didn’t know you live close to Elwood. I thought you were close to Crawfordsville. Sorry bro.
Live 20 miles away. Wife is from there.
That snake looks like @Old 179 favorite kind!
Some in between old and new tag.
Maybe ripe enough to pick now. I can't believe that Larry missed this!
Watch out or you might get trampled!!
Nope nope nope nope nope nope nope.........................................................
@jtclark13 I’m not terrified of snakes but I do have a healthy respect for them. I get sweaty palms just looking at that.
@mr_10brook I hate that I missed those murals and the bicycle tree. Pretty cool stuff.
What are we looking at here? I've been out of the snake world for awhile and am a bit rusty. The one on the left looks like some sort of colubrid, but the gray/washed coloring is throwing me off. Gray rat snake? And the one on the right...I'm going to have to say some kind of python, but the head is lacking the "arrowhead" markings that is on the usual Burmese/Indian suspects. Some sort of carpet python, maybe?
You are right on it! It’s a “white oaks” phase grey rat, and an Iran Jaya Carpet Python. The grey rat is no longer with us but the carpet is still doing great after 18yrs. And I know you’ll appreciate their names, Tennessee Jed and Cassidy.
You had to of went right by the bicycle tree in Fairmount. A few block west of the 4 way stop on Hwy 26
The murals were not anywhere that you were close to. The young lady that was glad to see that I was back at Bonges Bar in Perkinsville
I never got on hwy26 I rode county roads so that’s why I didn’t see it. Bummer.
