Don't get me wrong, I'm well aware that I paid a premium for the bike I wanted. Given the reputation of the dealer (who has walked the walk so far) and the couple hundred dollars in freebies I got (some I wanted, some I didn't really care about, like the BMW battery charger) I was okay with paying the $600-something for the dealer "we'll call it 'prep'" markup. BTW, I didn't pay twice for destination, when I posted earlier I just didn't have the sheet with the breakdown of the $1200 of dealer fees...so I assumed the markup was the $500 "destination". The markup, as noted, was actually $600 something. As noted, that's not much in the grand scheme of things, and I had no problem forking it over. Everything else is straight off the books, the Gap and warranty being decisions that some people make, so that price is a pretty valid data point. So, with a slight correction, assuming you have to pay taxes, a fully loaded 800GS is going to set you back $14k+.
