At times like these, where peeple are constantly using the phrase 'at times like these', there are multiplicities of views on wha'appen & why. As in so many fields & forms I find it hard to fall into the gabba-gabba of popular comment, where insane or established or wise but obdurate or conspiracist mouths try and outdo each other on the 'deepness' or 'insight 'or '1st to be speaky-ness' of their perspective comment. The starting pistol pops & out come the pontifications. Like when a public figure dies, there's a race to be the first to spout a particular angle. I just can'y get into it maaaaaan I mean on one level I'm doing the same here (amongst all the other bollox), commenting on the fact that peeple race to comment. But hey, that's all I got... Here in West-1 LDN by The Mayfair Mansion peeple are mistakenly setting fire to their kitchens as they learn for the 1st time how to cook for themselves, or at least how to set fire to pre-made meals as the restaurant/takeaway world remains mostly frozen, & staff are, er, unavailable. Three or four buildings down was giving off the ordure of something like super-roasted meteor grade carbonised lasagne & the cutting techno-music tone of multiple smoke alarms, all of which was bouncing 'round the 'hood. For myself & my own experience I can only say that there's an obverse humour in moving from a 'shut-at-seven' cnutry village to the heart of the Beeg $chitty, and for it to end up (for now) being quieter & more isolated than The Village. I've not seen my partner since early March, & it's palling... That is all. Move along now.
Were one to desire to manage the populace's reaction to a given crisis, that being so as to agender events towards ones own advantage by producing a form of 'thought control', or as close to that as might be possible, what would you do? In other news, today was the first time I spent the day wandering around Mayfair to get something more of a feel for my newish surroundings. One of the primary aims of coming here was to enable just such ambling trips to nowhere. And so I saw. And all was good upon the face of the green earth. It was quiet in nearby Grosvenor Square. No riots nor nuffink... (bluddy amateurs...)
I am a very judgemental & unkind person... Last night after 10pm I was sojourning (i.e. having a roll up), leaning out of the kitchen window here at the Mayfair Mansion, & five floors below me I noted someone who appeared to be a delivery driver (quite probably at the end of a long & underpayed days work) audibly pissing in the street, thinking he was hidden by the splayed rear doors of his van. I guess I could give my-me-self a little getout when it comes to troo evilness, as I waited until he'd finished & re-cabbed before I flung a handy jug of water that arced down & landed all over his windscreen just as he began to pull off. I mean, I could have not bothered to have waited for him to finish his long bladder-drainage & landed it right on him mid job, but one has to have a little sympathy, no?
In brief, T-Mo elsewhere raises the phrase posse comitatus... But as it's near 4am here in the Former United Commonwealth Kingdoms I'll dig into that 2mozz
La-de-da-de-da-de-dum... Now, far be it for me to have an opinion on the governance of/events in another nation state. And I don't know which international 'MSM' or lobbying/info source speaks from which standpoint; which of them is aligned where. & I don't dig deep to establish veracity or loyalties or critiques. However I read discussions of a leaked tape of calls with Governors, and of other matters... https://heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/june-1-2020 Via trusted L_____ H elsewhere. What might be another view? Where is the other pole from this perspective?
