Cheers! Hope you had a great time, there, we've been brewing the diea to swing over the ocean and ride Alaska-Ushuaia on 2 bikes or 2up, but somehow we ended up gong back to West Africa this winter. Thanks for complimenting Ana, you know how tasking a ride can be on any couple.

It was a pleasure, thanks for provinding so much inspiration for all of us, for us it's both humbling and challenging to read what others do.

Cheers, mate. Yup, from December 2017 to March 2018 we went riding 2up in West Africa on a KTM 1190 Adventure R, reason for the bike will be explained later on. But why back to West Africa when there are so many other places we haven't seen yet?
Well, because West Africa is such a densely populated, intense, diverse place that one can spend a lifetime there and barely scratch the surface. On our first motorcycle journey around Africa we had to make a lot of decisions, like where to go, and where not to go. The “not to go” part was hard. On a trip like that, like in any aspect of life, one learns to accept limits. There is never enough time, enough money, or enough stamina to do it all. And that’s OK.
But we had been hoping eversince to return and explore some of those places that got away, meaning the coastal countries that span the Gulf of Guinea: Senegal, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cote d'Ivoire & Ghana. Some we would need to cross twice, in order to complete a roughly 20,000KM loop. We will share the story here as soon as we manage to readjust to european rhythms and to sort out our photos, videos and emotions.
In a nutshell, these 3 months were about connection…

… about hard trails and tears of joy

… about great food found in humble places, and always served with love

And about making more memories for a lifetime.
