    Hi all,

I've been working on this webapp for a few years now and finally have something that I'm pretty happy with. It quickly lets you find a shortest route through a whole heap of waypoints. Using the genetic algorithm it finds a statistically good solution to the Travelling Salesman Problem.

An example would be to determine the shortest route through all European or US capitals. Once you've worked out the most efficient route through all the waypoints, you can decide how to travel between them. The "Directions" button will generate Google Maps turn by turn directions or you can take the back country.

Here's a video on how to use it:

Let me know what you think.

I dig this, too. I'm not sure when I might use it, but as a map guy, I find this fascinating.

Cheers mate, I'd like to add to it if I get the time, allow waypoint lists to be generated by users, allow sharing etc, I've got some ideas but not so much the time. Hope it helps some people though.

very cool. i remember reading about someone making one something like that for a US national park tour they did. i'd love to see further development of something like this.

google gets a little confused when routing the waypoints and they break with GPX export.

    still its very awesome.

Could potentially be helpful. Especially if user input was somehow pollable, and able to be shared. Top 50 roads in the US (or other countries) or best roads per state are a couple ideas that come to mind.

Why was this moved into Vendors?

It's a free service, I'm not charging anyone for anything.

Sounds tailor made for the Iron Butt type rides like the 48/10, 4-corners and rallies.
