Great river road yesterday
Last Hare Scramble race of the year in Winterset this weekend. Weather is looking great,
Am I the only one who gets nervous this time of year because of deer?
Out tonight between 4-530 and must have seen 7-8 deer out on the gravel roads.
Eventually I just put it in cruise mode 30 mph or slower
No. The deer population is getting crazy. I can see 7 or 8 deer everyday on my street in the middle of Des Moines.
Brad and I saw a surprisingly few number of deer doing the TWAT...but they were there. Only a couple of remotely close calls.
Here though, I have had maybe 6 or 7 close encounters since the beginning of October.
Deer are so bad in Indiana i've made a sticker for verified victims.
I have about 50 deer that live in my yard and I'm in the middle of Dubuque and I'm not exaggerating. Now I do have a big yard. We used to let a few hunters in during the city bow season, but that was a joke, because they would only shoot about 2 or 3 a season. They were just hunting for the trophy bucks.
Seems reasonable.... played a game of tag with one 2 weeks ago.... could have been a lot worse
I'm paranoid about them. My dad has hit three, once with me on the back when i was 11. Two of them had to be put down by law enforcement. I live about 400 yards from the iowa river and they are everywhere! I live on city bow hunting land now.....thinking about picking up a new hobby :)
This is very last minute. Going for a ride out of Ankeny today Sat. 2 Nov. Leaving from the Kum & Go on the NE 36. Shoot me a text if you can make it. 563-663-3123
You still got that old girl of mine? Glad she is still running good. I just sold this ole girl to a buddy of mine with 106,000 miles.
Heading to Ottumwa for the weekend. Thinking about bringing my bike to ride Bluff Creek (Bussey) for a few hours on Saturday. Anyone in the area have a current report on park conditions?
I was there 2 weekends ago. It was all great then.
eemsreno, thanks for the info. I've been to Bluff Creek once. Never been to Rathbun. Might try that also.
The one time we rode Rathbun was enough, It's no Bluff Creek.
We might be riding Saturday after noon at a guys , he has a ton of land and lots of trails, but I don't know how open he is to letting others ride there.
