For anyone interested in participating in a Loess Hills ride, here's what I'm thinking.
Changing the camping location to Shaben Park just north of Woodbine.
I plan on being there by noon on Friday 20 Aug. Riding around gravel and B-roads that afternoon.
Saturday, weather dependent, riding Loess Hill gravel and B roads. In the afternoon ride over to Baxter Cycle to check out their open house.
Sunday, get in a bit more riding in the morning, head home sometime in the afternoon.
Shaben Park is first come first serve. I will grab 3 camp sites on Friday. 2 tents per site.
Please message me if you are planning to ride and if need be, I'll grab another site.
Woodbine and and Dunlap have grocery stores where we can get food to make evening meals. Or, eat at local places in either town.

Not sure where you are now, but they just closed the road south of Lowell to Pickle Church. The hill is trying to fall into the river.

I heard. went and checked it out. I work in Mt Pleasant and take that long way back to New London a LOT. I'm a little bummed, but you've honestly been able to see it happening for awhile right there...

    I appreciate the heads up!

I moved back to Mt Pleasant a few years ago. Just went through there (Lowell) on Sunday. Trying to get used to my new-to-me GS. Actually made a stop in New London to chat w a friend and make a few adjustments.

If you've seen a Harley in the area ridden by a big dude in full 'stitch, it was probably me. :D

We tried it out and one at Troy’s bar and grill in Earling. That was a monster tenderloin. A bit too big. The place was noisy too. Like walking into a high school cafeteria at feeding time.

I got to demo ride a 2022? Kawasaki KLR 650 and a Pan America this past weekend. The fuel injected KLR is snappier than the old KLR and not as big feeling. The Pan Am is quite surprising. The looks in a picture make it appear bulky, it isn't in person. Feel in person is like picking up a 1000 Vstrom (off the side stand). It has 3 power modes, the rain mode is very flat, the regular highway mode is very responsive the sport mode is "holy crap this has a lot of poop"! I am 5'11" with a 30" inseam it's very cramped between the seat and the footpegs. Someone will make drop footpegs in a hurry. Slow speed maneuverability and balance is real good. It has quite a bit of electric gadgetry, ride height for instance. I like it, I hope it is a success for Harley! For me they could leave off the some of the complication and sell me one for $16k. Just my take, your opinion might be different.

Went for a ride in Missouri today.
    Plevna, Mo.

Then when I rode down to the Salt River to have a coffee break I noticed a Kitten in the grass. I walked over and nudged him with the toe of my boot and he couldn't even pick his head up off the ground he was shivering so bad. So I picked him up and put him in the sun while I drank my coffee. After a while he wouldn't leave me alone.
    DSC_0006.JPG

Then hearing another kitten cry I looked in the weeds and found one that was hurt bad. Ended up taking them to a vet clinic down the road.
They said they could find a home for the one but didn't sound like they wanted to help the hurt one. He could be fixed but needed some work.
