When you lived in Lowell did you know a old guy named Rayburn? He lived down on the south side of the river in a shack. He rode a Hondamatic 400.

Finally had the chance to ride one of these today.
    I was very impressed.

Always looking for someone to ride with.

Thanks for the welcome. It may not be like Colorado here, but I do enjoy riding the driftless region and looking towards jumping off from here to doing more exploration in the SE USA!

Cool! Yeah, COBDR would be cool, I have ridden stretches of it but never the entire thing.

No, I did not know him, but I am sure I saw him ride by a few times, and im certain we crossed paths...... I'm trying to remember... was it a red bike? I actually had a red hondamatic briefly, that belonged to the stepson of the lady who owned the house we rented...

It's been so long now I'm not sure of the color. Every time I seen him he would tell me about getting ready to ride that thing to Alaska, He never did. One time after telling me he was going to go , he couldn't even start his bike, I had to start it for him. Wish I had gotten his picture, cool old guy.

:lol3 Definitely some interesting characters living down there. My favorite was the guy who collected the money for the streetlights. Was a single bill for the whole town, each house shared... Ride his bike down, demand money. Every year I'd request a copy of the bill from the power co. Later, he'd come back with a handwritten notepad ledger. I never paid him. Lights never went out. I have some doubts it was ever legit. LOL

Check your calendars. I am kicking around the idea of riding the Green Country Oklahoma Adventure Trail aka "GOAT" the weekend of 20-23 Nov. (the weekend before Thanksgiving). I was thinking about trailering to Langley, Ok., setting up camp (or cabin or hotel). Then ride half the trail on Sunday, half on Monday, back to Iowa on Tuesday. Please reply here or message me if you might be interested.

Sorry, I have to postpone this ride. I had a brother-in-law pass away Mon/Tue night. I wont be available to ride this weekend.

What: A ride up the Dragoon Trail.
Where: Meet at the Caseys in Madrid (117 N Kennedy Ave, Madrid, Ia.)
and ride to the Iron Saddle Saloon in Dayton for lunch. Possible stops at the Skillet Creek Indian Mounds and Vegors Cemetery.
    When: Sunday 24 Oct. @ 10:00 am kickstands up @ 10:15.
There is a chance of rain, 30%, enough to keep the dust down.

Wife and I made a blitz down to Great Smokey Mountains National Park last week and popped our Deals Gap cherries. It was fun, but tiring! IMG_20211014_134837.jpg
