UGH!!!! looks like the most recent weather forecast has the rain chance up to 72%. Guess this ride wasn't meant to happen. :-(

It was a great day to ride the Dragoon Trail. It was a bit blustery but not bad in the river valley roads. Tried eating at the Iron Saddle Saloon in Dayton instead of the Riverside Tavern in Lehigh. The Iron Saddle does not serve food on Sundays :(. We ended up at the Copperhead Saloon and Grill in Stratford. It's a newish place by the gas station. It's a bit more pricey than the Riverside Tavern though. We stopped at Vegor cemetery to pay our respects to Maj. Benjamin Bell. We also stopped at the Indian mounds at Skillet Creek.

I'll be riding the Bitter End ride near Morrison, IL on Sunday. Looks like it will be a beautiful fall day!

Is that along the Iowa Eastern Adventure Trail? I'm looking at that now on Basecamp. I rode some of that a few years back. Getting over to the eastern side of the state is a bit of a trip on a Sunday. Especially if there is any gravel or B-roads in that trip.

So, for Sunday 7 November, the meeting point: Newton 66, 1806 S 12th Ave W, Newton, IA Let's say 9:45am kickstands up @ 10:00am. Attached are a couple gpx files. Option A is the "Marshalltown" file. Option B is the "Jasper-Poweshiek" file. If you plan on riding, please vote for a either Opt. A or Opt. B.

Trev, your map is SO close to a nice dirt road Missouri crossing, you have to cross it. Heck, it is probably very shallow anyhow. It’s 1/2 mi east of Blairstown on that paved county rd, first road going north, which is dirt, looks like 22nd ave on google.
I’ve been across it on my Supertenere a couple times, no big deal but might make you smile.
I think I’m going to go do some Wisconsin falling leaves ride, maybe part of the TWAT gpx, see how my new sleeping bag handles cold.
    Have fun

    Count me in, Trev.
I'm only seeing your Marshalltown file which would be fine with me.
I'd be coming from Iowa City if anyone else wants to caravan.

Watch out Trev this is Rodeoclones version of an easy Missouri crossing.
