I think you have to do it in writing. Possibly call them and cancel, but I've never seriously tried to cancel it.

You have to do it on the phone, then they’ll try to hassle you and then offer a discounted rate then finally they will cancel the next renewal, but not what’s already been renewed. Their shitty business practices are why I’ll never use SPOT again.

    You're damn right it's the CC screw-up, not SPOT's...

My suggestion - contact CC - ask WHY they allowed the charge to go thru, as you'd intended to cancel service. By allowing the charge to go thru, they (the CC co.) screwed up.

    They should reverse the charge.

    Unless...

The CC account was still in good standing, and you'd yet to receive a new CC with an updated expiration date.

Card expired in March. Charge was July. Got new card in February. Probably canceling CC over this.

I know you resolved your problem, but the only way to cancel is to do so shortly before your plan renews.

I can see the latest Goldwing being my only bike at some point.....just need to wear out the current ones.

As a much younger guy than average for ADVRider, will say I find the new Goldwing far, far more appealing than the old 1800 - but then, I ride a Honda 250 and often tour with a 22L bag so, I may be more masochistic than some wrt cargo capacity and fuel range

That said, I still intend on staying on ADV bikes while my legs are still any good eh

I kinda look at the new wing as a growth of the ST1300 rather than a shrunken GL1800. My test ride was quite pleasant. I’m thinking of going with the base and use a tail bag when needed instead of getting the tour and carrying around an empty truck 90% of the time.

Friend of mine calls it the "ST1800". :lol3

Can you believe some people actually took offense to that? :cob

I see it as a compliment, but then again I’ve never had issue with luggage capacity like some people. Spend some time backpacking through mountains carrying everything for a week’s worth of gear, food, etc on your back and you quickly learn that you don’t need a ridiculous amount of crap for a few days or weeks worth of travel.

Looking for some weather advice along the I-10/8 from DFW Tejas to Yuma AZ. Most likely in the late Aug and early Sept. timeframe.
It is getting time to get the plate for the new bike.

Hot...maybe humid, though our monsoon season here in ¡Baja Arizona! has sucked large this season.

I found this place a while back. It's decent for a 'back-of-the-envelope' estimate of typical climate conditions...example for Gila Bend:

    https://www.usclimatedata.com/climate/gila-bend/arizona/united-states/usaz0081

If your cooling/hydration setup is good, then go for it. IF a little sketchy, consider about a month later - late Sept/early October seems to take the edge off the heat just a little bit.

Ride north. Or ride at night. I've ridden that stretch a bunch of times and without the sun beating down on you, nighttime temps in the 90's aren't bad.
