    AndyT,

I saw several videos of her. She didn't look broken up to me.

My understanding is that WhatsApp goes through a cell tower too. But that is immaterial. He could still SMS from there w/o internet. In other words, he could SMS from just about anywhere, he doesn't have to wait for an internet hotspot. If you have a dataplan to use hotspots, then you also have SMS. Is he so cheap that he wouldn't SMS in a situation like this? That doesn't make sense to me.

Yes, other army escorts have been provided before when there are "active gun battles" going on. If it's an area where the army is doing a sweep, they will just tell you to turn around.

You are right, my analyses is not bulletproof, but right now my spidey senses tell me this is bullshit. I'm going with accident like Mark suggested or intentional disappearing act. I'm with ace on this one.

Spiral edition of Sjoerd's book? Nice. Mine is the stapled kind. I think I got mine last year from him. I like the tabbing you did. Will take to Staples like you did. Excelente!

SPOT was mentioned upthread. I have an old one and I use it. Peace of mind for the wife. I keep it on my tail rack. When asked what it is, I just say it's a compass (brujula).

They have a strong clear cover on both sides, front and back. I very pleased with the result.

    For non-Spanish speakers that's a great idea.

No, just harsh. For you guys to proclaim this fellow's going missing as "bullshit" is beyond distasteful. Yes, he may have faked it, but you don't have any evidence of that, yet you're ready to proclaim it all "bullshit." Lets hope neither one of you fucks goes missing lest we all conjecture about why you faked it.

While Harry Devert is missing, I would suggest taking all the musings to PM

But if he had wifi, but no cell signal, text over internet would be his only option.

Has anyone ever been to Penelope's Kitchen down in Oaxaca? Nice place, I just wonder if she is still there?

I think you're referring to Casa Penelope's in Puerto Angel?

YES!!! I stayed there in early 90s, she was still building the place. Very Nice, room, breakfast. Loved it, I was staying there and my two french travelers I was with slept in hammocks on the beach for not much less. Thanks, I've been curious about that place for years. Thought it was a figment of my imagination, I never heard anyone else mention it. Perfect for Zipolite beach. When I got off the bus, the owner pulled up next to me walking with my backpack, she was in a little Ford Fiesta like car, she said "get in", I thought why not. She took me to her then new place. Very good hostess with great food. That's it just a nice place to stay.
