    Brett for President!
If he doesn’t want that job, he’s welcome to stay in Canuckistan and run for Prime Minister.

It looks like Brett made it back to Beardmore last night in the dark! It will be interesting to read about that ride!

Brett is back in the USA! Enjoy all your posts. He sent me some great pictures of his time in Ombabika and Beardmore. Should be some good stories!

Only 700 miles to go and and you will be doing the Nebraska signing ceremony! Maybe just in time to also enjoy Game 1 of the World Series. I think Brett and Annie will be taking a well deserved break and doing some writing instead of riding before you get a chance to try out that new jacket.-):hmmmmm

Nowhere, never in the annals of man has Ombabika been spelled correctly so often as here...

Looks like Brett has a pretty tough storm in front of him this morning. Stay Safe Everywhere Man!

Yes...he is in strong wind and rain all day today. At least it is coming from slightly behind his left shoulder. Interesting to see if he decides to avoid the busy Twin Cities and go through St. Cloud. Tomorrow's forecast looks drier. Hope he gets about halfway home by end of today!

My husband's brother and his wife live just south of the Twin Cities. Brett made it to their place a little before 5 tonight. So he is safe with his aunt, uncle, and cousins. He may stay a couple of nights to avoid riding in the rain as he had to today plus he wants to visit with them. My sister-in-law is a great cook and will spoil him! I'm just glad he's out of the rain! Eager to see him again! Thanks for all your concern.

I feel bad for the teaser, but that's all I'm going to share for now. Nebraska is all that remains. :thumb

    Finish strong, my brother.

I'm considerably older than you are. I think about where I was when I was your age, and it astonishes me. Forget the fact that I freely admit that back then, I didn't have the balls to even consider what you have done. Just forget it - that ship has sailed.

What I realize is that back then, my attitude was my biggest obstacle. Back then, I had this vision of where I was and where I should be. This invisible "place" that somehow symbolized where someone my age should be. And of course, I wasn't there and in my own mind, the only way to get there was through incorrigible toil and work. Stamp the steel, count the beans, and tote the bale. Then pass out from physical and mental exhaustion and tomorrow, wake up and do it all over again. Don't waste your time and thought with anything else. Work, work, work......

Brett - when I was your age, I was "no where", and you've gone "everywhere". Ironic, don't you think?

Now, with a lifetime of experience, knowledge, and appreciation for the world that we live in, I know that you will be laser focused on whatever comes next. I know that you will know with confidence how to get there. And I know from my own experiences that in all likelihood, at least in some aspects, your journey might be just a smidge easier.

This is the part that non-riders will never get. They will never understand that it's not about the ride. It's about the ride.

    Wingmom exempted, perhaps.

    Finish strong, my younger brother.

Clear skies over the Twin Cities for the next few days so it should be dry, but cold.

    Safe travels home, Brett.
