I talked to Brett today and he’s doing good. I didn’t ask him about his intentions to finish out the thread, mostly just some brief chit chat as I’m on a family vacation at the moment. I accidentally clicked channels while turning my truck just in time for this song to start, I had no choice, I had to check up on my pal Brett.

    Heres's a thing:

For those who followed along as Brett travelled to Schefferville way back here, and want to relive the adventure or learn more about that train, I just read this article describing that self-same stretch of railway, to that most remote part of Quebec:
    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/06/travel/tshiuetin-railroad-canada.html

No mention in the article about whether available short-term accommodations in Schefferville go beyond school busses.

I spoke to him a fee days ago. I was looking for the dusty winnamuka road sign. He intends to finish the saga but didnt really indicate a time frame.

I miss his posts. Miss him too. Had the pleasure of hosting him twice. East and west coasts

I'll watch the thread again, as I hope that this great story will be concluded at some point in time... :lurk

Man I discovered this RR while searching “heavy top box” as I’m about to mount a pelican 1607 air to my dl1000 for 2 months of travel through Montana/Wyoming and Idaho.

this thread has set aside any of my fears that I he so far about mounting a big top box as yours is damn near twice the size. Your adventure looks awesome and was inspiring to read so far! I’m hoping mine is even half as fun as yours!

Well, it’s been 5 months since this post.. I’m laid up after getting my right ankle rebuilt for the second time. I’ve been doing lots of reading. Four more weeks in the cast, I’ll be doing even more reading.
So what’s the story? Going to wrap this up? I sure hope so. How about a very brief update on life? Seriously, I hope all is well Brett. We were camped for a week out near Pinedale WY last month. Missed Norfolk to the south on the way out, and to the north on the way back, but thought about your trip every time a Johnny Cash song came up on Pandora. Take care, but let us know how you’re doing! Ha

I've been texting with Brett the last couple days and he's doing well. Life has been very busy and I think he was a bit burned out (road fatigue) after being on the road for so long and coming home to a world in turmoil and the loss of his Dad. I'm sure he'll give us the last post on the trip sometime soon, but meanwhile I wanted to post and let you guys know he's doing OK.

Thanks WYOGeorge, good to read. We've been a mite worried about the lad, hoping it was as you describe. We'll be patient - we've practiced - but look forward to his finale' happy to know Brett's hale & hearty.

I've talked to him as well and he sounds good.

Just my 2 cents, I imagine he doesn't want to close the door on this most Epic of Adventures.
Once you complete the narrative, it's over.
None of us want to have it finished, I can only imagine how Brett feels.
